What is the teams identity?
Specifically if they keep doing well and Has is retained as HC, what will this teams identity <what people think of> be.
I recall those Saints teams with blistering linebackers. We all know the GSOT. What is this team going to be?
My guess ...... punch you in the mouth power running game matched with a punch you in the mouth defense <eventually>. Throw in the keep you honest deep passing game.

Re: What is the teams identity?
I have to agree Richbert... over the last two games it's certainly seemed that we're turning into a turnover causing, bend don't break defense with, a balanced offense, who can burn you deep with Avery, or burn you period with a run by Jax.

Re: What is the teams identity?
It's obvious Steven Jackson is the focal point of our offense every thing revolves around him he is our new E. Dickerson. We have some fast wr's but right now teams are not staying awake at night thinking about our passing game. I don't know what the D id is yet we still have big problem stopping the run, I would not call our D line fearsome foursome, but we are starting to get some turn overs and we are fast but small. I think it is to early and will be determined later on in the season.

Re: What is the teams identity?
The Rams have won a couple of games in a row where both teams may have been looking past them. We'll see how they do on the road agianst a Patriots team that just beat Denver by 34 points. The Rams O line is still a work in progress in pass protection. Is this the 0-4 Rams team that looked horrible from start to finish or the 2-0 Rams that is winning the turnover war? Time will tell. At any rate it might be early to pencil in Haslett as the answer. If the Rams revert back to the 0-4 version will you all still want Haslett back as HC?

Re: What is the teams identity?
So far, it's looking like a pretty balanced team. We throw about as much as we pass, and we do take shots long. Saunders throws in a few gimmick plays to keep them honest, too, like letting Avery run the ball for the long TD against Washington or lining Goldberg up at tight end to seal the edge on Jackson's long TD run against Dallas. An aggressive defense should be a big part of our future, as well. It seems like the emphasis is going to be on getting to the quarterback, forcing mistakes, capitalizing on turnover opportunities, etc. even if we give up some yardage along the way.

Re: What is the teams identity?
Haslett has been able to brush the dust off and get these guys motivated to work hard no matter what their hit with.

Re: What is the teams identity?
Identity? Unrespected overachievers. That was Haslett's Saints; and the structure is in place for the same with this group.
Good call, RI. The pieces are in place.
