If/when Stussie is signed, could we expect him to step onto the field right off ??
Maybe at right guard the way #60 lechey??, played yesterday.

Leky was amazing. People may complain of an ugly win, but a victory with that O line is some achievement in my book.

Re: What will the O line look like next week?
Hit it right on the head. When Steussie filled in for Pace in '06 I think he looked better than Barron has been playing on that side. Replace Petitti with Barron @ RT, shift McCollum over to RG to replace Leckey, and put Romberg back at center. I think that's our best combination for the time being, though I also wouldn't mind shifting Brown back to RG and moving McCollum to LG where they both played earlier. I'm somewhat hesitant about moving McCollum to his third position on this line.

What about Dustin Fry? Wasn't he supposed to be ready in two weeks?
That would make him available for home game Vs. Squawks, no? ...If so (which I hope is the case), I'd like to see him at center, play McCollum at guard and activate Romberg but only for an emergency because of the sprain on one foot and, I believe, something else bad on the other leg.
:bash: Maybe Fry is ready for the NFL!Last edited by RealRam; -11-19-2007 at 06:10 PM. Reason: Emoticon

Re: What will the O line look like next week?
Alot of us would like to see Dusty get a shot, but at center? ... Right off the practice squad? Would you really want him trying to make all the line calls for us against Seattle-- I think that would be asking too much right off the bat. Linnehan and crew had him practicing as a guard and though I don't have a link, I am pretty sure I recall Scott saying that he felt Dusty was more of a natural guard than a center. I don't see him playing unless someone else gets hurt ... If we are so fortunate as to have a lead in the 4th quarter (say against Atlanta) that we need to protect by runniing the ball, why not insert him then and see what he can do? Starting at center against the NFC West leader would be very risky if not downright foolish. Just my 2 cents though ...

Re: What will the O line look like next week?
You're right, Maui. I forgot about the plans to develop Fry at guard (he was recruited a center). It would be nice to have another versatile C/G in Fry, like Cog is (BTW, Dustin apparently is also a scrappy OL; he and Richie may become the new ___________ brothers [Donut, etc.]).
Well, then I'd like to see Fry at guard and McCollum at center while Romberg recovers further, at least one more game. I imagine this rookie and latest newcomer to the Rams OL is itching to get on the field!
