Re: What you want to see in Week 2

Right now, I would settle for an offensive touchdown due to a designed play and proper execution.
I would not be pleased with a 3 - 0 victory against the Redskins. That would only show me that our defense is the same or getting better, and our offense still sucks. Yes, it's a win, but it wouldn't satisfy my expectation of the team rebounding from last week. You can save your "just win baby" BS for that feeble old man Al Davis and his worthless gang of players.

Would you feel that way if we the superbowl 3-0, or would you want them to line up the next day, and go at it again?

Your suggestion isn't analogous to our current situation. Obviously, to get to the Super Bowl, we would have had to substantially played better on offense than we did in week one. Secondly, I'm speaking in terms of us having played only one game. If we are destined to be of the Baltimore Ravens mold when they went to the Super Bowl winning games 9 -6, 10 -3, etc., I would accept that, as did many football fans recognizing the makeup of that team at the time. However, I don't see us as having a dominating defense like the Ravens did, or the Bears during their heyday, which gives me pause to wonder without such a defense, do we have what is necessary offensively to win games.

How about some mistake free football. That cost us 10 to 14 points last week. And which could have changed the momentum.

Don't mean to derail the thread, but Jacksonville will go heavy after Tebow. They face a 8 game blackout this year!!!! Thats Gator nation. If they get Tebow, they will get a whole new crowd that they need. I see the Jaguars more desperate to get him.

Then there is a whole argument to be made why I don't think he will be a good NFL QB, but thats for a later discussion

I Would like to see Mark Boulger in the bench, he is giving everyone in the team bad vibes, he is not making enough efort to make a play. Take the bad apple out the of basket before it rottens the rest, and thing are going to start geting better. Preseason was great without him.

    No stupid penalties
    Give the ball to Jackson
    Pressure the QB
Receivers to get open for Bulger
Line giving time for the offense to make things happen

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

I'd like them to win so we are not appearing as the "doormat" in someone else's highlights on ESPN.

Pretty much everything been covered, 3rd down play on offense is where
Ill be most interested?? Better execution all round, including the coaches.
WE must right the ship this week, if not, the confidence factor with the fans firstly,
then the players begins to ebb!
    BIG GAME.

    1) No Ram false starts

    2) No Ram personal fouls

    3) No Ram unsportsman like conduct penalties

    4) No wasted time outs .. Get the plays in on time.

    5) Have someone on the Rams' staff keep count of how many Ram players are on the field at any given time.

    6) Run the ball! Run the ball some more !!

    7) A win would be nice ..

Re: What you want to see in Week 2

I want to see better 3rd down defense which is when it really matters. In the first half vs The Hags I think The Rams forced seven 3rd downs. Five of them were 5 yds or more to go for The Hags. The Rams stopped them twice. That's pretty yucky.

May also be worth noting that all of those conversions came by pass. One stop came by INT,the other was an inc pass. Don't remember if it was well-defended or just a botch by The Hags. Since the first was followed by Brown's pair of screw-ups and the second by the blocked FG fiasco, the point was moot.

But I still think it would have helped with a lot of other things that might have mitigated the disastrous mistakes or even reduced the number of them; quieting the crowd, changing the starting field position, etc.

    Triple digit points

Ok maybe just double digit points. I don't even care which group scores them. Special teams bring it, defense go for it, offense step in and do your job.

no stupid penalties. no injuries, and some 3rd down completions.

Re: What you want to see in Week 2

A win is the simple answer. Not just because it's the Rams, but in my survivor pool at work one-half of the players are taking the Redskins. A Rams win would greatly reduce the field for me.

But really, I'd like to see the Rams compete for 4 quarters and at least have a chance to win the game in the final minutes..
    Faithful Rams fan since 1968
