He's a winner. And unfortunately lately the Rams have been losers. Releasing his best friend and mentor didn't help much either.

He's been banged up for the past few yrs with his knee injuries and isn't the downfield threat he used to be. He makes too much, and last season he expressed a big desire about wanting to finish up the final year or two of his career with Carolina since he's from North Carolina anyway.

I think there was a lot of friction between him and Linehan as well. Linehan is gone now, and I haven't really heard much from him since then. His numbers have been way down, but the whole offense has been way down, so you can't take too much from that.
Holt is frustrated. He did come in to this league as a Super Bowl champion his rookie year, went the playoffs again the next two years, and continued to have productive seasons. As of recent the Rams have been losing a lot, something he's not used to or likes (as it should be), and he would want to go somewhere where he can help a team win.
Now if the Rams improve and show they can win, he could very well want to stay here the rest of his career.

lol unfortunatley im NOT "big game". wish i was with the money he makes lol. well whatever happens with holt happens, letting him go works well imo for both partys because holt wants to be on a winning team and we could do with the extra cap room. will carolina not take bulger off our hands too? :P

bent1....are you a rams fan? You should know what the deal is with Holt if you have been paying attention at all during the year.

There is no way that carolina will be taking bulger and holt "off our hands"

And then bent1 changes his screen name!

    Go get him Utter!

Torry Holt got spoiled with immediate success upon entering the NFL. It's probably a hard pill to swallow with all the losing recently. I will say we haven't heard much from Torry since Linehan was canned so maybe he's back on board with our team?
