What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

We can no longer blame rust. There is something wrong - and it ain't Steven Jackson!

So what is it?

The line, there's no other explanation other than blaming the line when your QB gets sacked by a mediocre defense 6 times. Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

I say don't panic, it will take time for Bulger to used to the new system. Linehan doesn't want Bulger playing recklessly. Holding the ball longer will result in sacks.

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

if it's because of a new system, then they should have played more in the preseason, everyone says keep guys healthy, well if you are going to play like crap and lose anyways, at least you made the effort to become better.

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

I think it's a combination of the two. I think we still need to be patient because it takes more than one summer and two games to master a new offensive plan, especially when you've had the same offense for 5-6 years. We haven't defined what we are as an offense yet, and that's a problem.

But also, I'm just not exceptionally confident in the job the offensive line is doing. Steussie as a back-up tackle is doing about as good a job as Grant Williams did, and I still feel like we're just getting pushed around in both phases of the game.

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

It's tough to watch after so many years of GSOT, and even harder to lose to Frisco. Having said that though, new coaches, new players and some key injuries have set us back.

Avenger I thought Jackson was fine, but is just me or has the opposing defenses figured out that you only have to higt him low and he trips up fairly easy?

Drew4EverRams - if doing towards the "whinee side"
Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

O-line, partly due to injuries, partly due to linehan& co not addressing properly in pre season and partly due to martz neglecting it throughout his tenure!

i have faith in linehan to bring the lombardi trophy back to st.louis but it aint gonna happen overnight!

Square Pegs, Round Hole

Those quick hits to Holt and Bruce made shake my head every time. We have the best route runners in the league and we need to let them do their thing. Also, the Rams have great depth at WR... I wouldnt mind seeing more 3-4 WR sets...

Those are the kind of routes you need to utilize though when your pass protection leaves something to be desired.

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

I say give it time. However, if I had known that Bulger would look this uncomfortable, then I would have given the first unit more snaps in the preseason as JKRamsFan stated. I will be patient and just hope for now.

Re: What's wrong with this freakin' offense?

It's going to be a work in progress and we're going to take some lumps along the way.

Until Bulger gets comfortable and on the same page as his receivers, we're going to struggle.

Two starting linemen hurt in the first two games doesn't make it any easier either.

Not time to push the panic button yet, but another game like this in Arizona, and my patience will begin to run out.
