I think you're jumping the gun a bit AV.
I guess I'm just too PO'ed to care right now.
If they do loose this week I will NOT be posting on this board the rest of the season.JUST WIN ONE FOR THE FANS

I think its way too soon for SLOP. I still have faith in Linehan, and I don't think talk of replacement should happen until after two seasons at least. You've got to give new coaches time.

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
Too soon, as is obvious in my other posts.
I'm a still little ticked at Haslett, (and Lovie):
...far as I'm concerned, that (every profanity I know) "bend but don't break" D cost us a SB, and both Seattle games this year.

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
It’s way to early for SLOP. I still think Linehan was a good choice for HC. We have been in every game until last week. If we had a defense that was just average, we would have beaten the Hawks twice. We need more talent on that side of the ball that’s no surprise to any of us. I don't think a replacement should happen until after two or three seasons and surely not after 9 games into his first year. If we end up 7-9 or 8-8 I would think that’s what most of us had expected this year.
Take Dennis Green on the other hand the D.G.O.P should be in full force.

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
Way too soon.... if the franchise have made a decision to appoint a rookie coach then they should expect rookie mistakes... he will get better..( and so will our defense) .. if he doesn't by the mid-end of next season then Linehan may be feeling some pressure.

Its too soon, but if we lose to the Niners this weekend I might be jumping on that bandwagon.

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
I'm sorry, half a season, two badly called games and now it's time to abandon our coach and start an opposition party? The guy needs support, not ridicule. While I agree his decisions against Carolina were abysmal and he should be taking some heat, to actually "oppose" him, call him names and demand he be canned is ridiculous. We should all be pulling for him to learn from his mistakes and become the kind of coach who can lead us to success, but I'm getting the feeling that many are hoping he fails. I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
In all honesty...
I will not, can not, am not, care not to be involved in negative press with this team. We have enough jar head reporters in St. Louis to crucify Linehan and the Rams. I am choosing the side of S.O.T.. Which is Supporting Our Team no matter what.
Don't feed into the dark side fellow fans. Be upset, be concerned and for heaven sakes be critical. But lets not crucify anyone who wears the horns. We all know where the last abolishment went :x :xLast edited by RamWraith; -11-21-2006 at 09:04 PM.

What signature? It seems to have been changed while I was away.
To be honest BigRedMan, I want Linehan to own up to his own mistakes or at least avoid continued support of stupid decisions when he is talking to the media, and more importantly to the team. He will lose the players support if he is not capable of putting them in a winning position, and he will lose the fans at the same time. He has to at least be able to recognize that he is part of the problem and admit that to the players.
SLOP does not call for his replacement to me. It just calls for him to stop hurting the team with his poor play calling and to stop placing blame where it does not belong. True leaders know how to absorb or deflect problems so that players want to play for them.
Maybe Linehan should hand the play calling over to the OC, whoever that is, and let them call the plays for a while. That should take him out of the hot seat.
You guys are welcome to create a pro-Linehan group if you want to support him.Last edited by Nick; -11-21-2006 at 10:09 PM. Reason: Merging back to back posts

Re: Where do you fall in the SLOP debate?
OK...I can hang with that explanation. You don't want him replaced, you just want him to get his head out of his ass. I can agree with that.
