Where was Marshall?

While Jackson looked pretty good today, I don't understand the complete lack of touches for Marshall Faulk. How can such a valuable weapon go unused, especially considering the fact that he has been so effective this year?

Re: Where was Marshall?

Good point. I wish we had used The Marshall a few more times today. :angryram:

I only recall one pass to him that went incomplete -- I think a little behind the target. It must have been an issue of game plan but, by the same token, it is well known throughout the land that the Rams have a very valuable, fresh pair of legs, and hands, in No. 28.

I think today's loss at the Dome qualified as a heartbreaker. :tut

Re: Where was Marshall?

Especially with Bruce out, Marshall is the player that should be utilized in third down and red zone situations. I can understand feeding Jackson the rock in the running game to get his groove going, but Faulk should be the X-factor, lining up in the slot and running out into the flat. He can provide a great spark and change-of-pace when things are going flat.

Right now, at this very moment, i believe that faulk is better than jackson. There, i said it. I am not debating durability, only stating that i want my best guys available on the field and i dont think jackson is better than faulk right now.

Good point Jason, but at least those guys had an opportunity to contribute and produce, #28 certainly did not. There just seems to be something wrong when Jeff Robinson, who was supervising construction work last week, gets more touches then Marshall Faulk in possibly the most important game of the season.

Re: Where was Marshall?

I don't think that Martz' ego will allow him to concede that he sent Marshall "out to pasture" a little too early. Jackson is his draft pick, his guy, and that's the way it is. Marshall will be in a different uniform next year. Sound familiar?

First off, Faulk was the one who suggested it was time to take a supporting role and let Jackson be the starter, not Martz. Secondly, there is no way he will be wearing a different uniform next year. There is no doubt in my mind that he will retire a Ram.

If there is another game where Faulk is completely ignored, I would be very surprised.

I agree GC I was at the game on one play they handed off to Jackson and everybody was on the right side he tried to cut left where there was no one at all after he tried he tripped himself up. He has very little cutting ability at this point if he had not tripped himself he could have ran forever no one was there. North and South he looks okay but there is a lot of cutting that is required to be a good RB, which to this point I have not seen. Every time they threw a pass to him I held my breath he made most of the catches today but he don’t make them look smooth he looks like he has rocks for hands.

I don’t blame Jackson for this loss not by any means but I would rather see 28 start next game. Our first quarter offense this year has been horrible. Today the Seachickens offense outscored our offense 14-0 in the first quarter and we were not moving the ball.

I still blame the D they lost the game. But I would like to see our offense perform better in the first quarter.

Re: Where was Marshall?

I saw Marshall in on a number of plays. Let's not equate the fact that he's not getting touches to the fact that he's not seeing time. If Marshall runs out into the flat but a receiver is open downfield, you hit the guy downfield.
