    Who was Bulger talking about?

Bulger ... accused some of his teammates of shrugging off repeated mistakes, lacking dedication and not caring whether the Rams win or lose.

Bulger said the problem had been festering for "a couple of months."

"There's more than one guy in this locker room that could care less if we're losing or thinks it's OK to make mistakes.

He also stressed that others, including running back Steven Jackson and receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce, are giving their all.

Bulger also emphasized that he was talking only about his side of the ball. "I'm just speaking offensively; I don't know anything about defense," he said.

I think it'll be obvious to some of the leaders Torry, Isaac, Steven Jackson, guys who've been around and know what it means to play football and care and appreciate it."
So who was Bulger talking about? He says himself it was offense, and not Jackson, Bruce or Holt. Also several "rookie" type references were made, so I'm guessing it's the younger guys. But who was it specifically, you figure?

"Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

I have to base my opinion on the fact that really of that list the only guys who have been on the field enough to draw this critism are Richie and Alex.

If hes talking about bench warmers it could be anybody and is probably more than just who is on that list.

I can't believe it would be Incognito. The dude is full if piss and vinegar...with an attitude like I would think that he cares about winning and losing.

How could you not say Incognito? He's been making so many mistakes this year it's not even funny. These young guys need to realise it's not practice anymore and they can't jump, and be called for a false start, unlike in practice where they get more chances to get better, of course it's obvious he hasn't taken that thought anywhere with him.

Sure, yeah, he's young, but you'd think a guy like this would have learned by now. Linehan needs to discipline our guys more as you guys have stated in other threads.

Re: Who was Bulger talking about?

Alex Barron (Is he still leading the league in penalties? I know he was a few weeks ago, and he "won" that title last year...)

    &

Dominique Byrd (Even before the stab-in-the-face thing, he just seemed to lack commitment to improving and winning IMHO)

As a sidenote, I don't think you can criticise Bulger for calling guys out at this point. He's right and often he's the one ending up on his ass with broken ribs when the other guys don't really care about winning...Good thing he excluded Holt, Bruce & Jackson, especially Jackson has impressed me with his will to win this year, always fighting for extra yardage even when his line lets him down.

They're all playing bad, on both sides of the ball D-line and O-line, with the exception of Jackson and a few other bright spots, we DON'T have a good "Team".

I would disagree with the Incognito choice. First, he isn't playing his normal position. Next, he tries to fast-snap when he sees someone on D in the neutral zone. I think Incognito plays with some heart. Does he make some mistakes - yes. However, he is nowhere near the drivekiller that Alex Barron is.

Re: Who was Bulger talking about?

The fact is we aren't in the locker room and don't see the attitude some guys exhibit, so it's all just unknown. Hmmm, that reminds me of a poem by Donald Rumsfeld....

    As we know,
    There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
    We also know
    There are known unknowns.
    That is to say
We know there are some things
    We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
    The ones we don't know
    We don't know.

I think that sums it up nicely.

The defense doesn't know anything about the defense either.
