Who do you think is responsible for Bulger becoming the starter?
I'm curious what the concensus is on this key issue.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: Who do you think is responsible for Bulger becoming the starter?
Circumstances:
Warner got hurt, Warner played poor when he came back, and due to lack of support by coaches game plan. We where still living in the past while our running game had stopped and the O-line played poor, we still game planned to pass, pass, pass. I still think if we would have went MAX Protect and dumb it down we would have won some of the games we lost in Warner losing streak. Instead we had game where Warner had big yards and made big mistakes.
Warner off the field activities his wife and the talk shows, lack of fellowship with the right players on the team. Example having players go through his people to get an autograph. That stuff can’t make to many friends, Warner got much of the attention in the days of the greatest show, not Bruce or Holt, Bruce could careless but Holt is another story.
Marc’s play had allot to do with it, although it was clearly two different game plans for Marc and Warner. The youngster got the simple more conventional game plan that fit the current player on the roster, not the 5WR spread the field and give it to a healthy Marshal.
When I look at the two QB today, nothing really has changed. Marc is just OK, he is still learning, no one know how good he is going to be. He still really is not the best QB on this team right now; Chandler is better, but older much like Warner was. Warner is still playing for a team that has no O-line and a very weak D. But the coach is trying to help him out not hang him out to dry, with his game plan and play calling. Just ask Marc how he feels about having to pump fake in your own end zone while waiting for the play to develop and losing the game. A few more play calls like that we all will be asking what happen to our young promising QB.
To answer the question it is many things that just added up to Warner not winning games. Sunday I watch Warner and it was the first game he has played in where from the start you thought he had a fighting chance to win. He did not look good and get pulled in a preseason game. Warner has played in 8 preseason game between his 3 regular season games. And in some of the preseason games he was looking really good it just did not count for nothing.
Bottom line Warner can still play in the NFL and is still better then most QB. I would like to see him play at least 8 games, so teams can get a good look at him.

i know it's a controversial issue, subject to ridicule and uncontrollable breakout of hives, but i'm compelled to disclose categorically what i feel is an axiom:
the cubans did it... in cahuts with the green men from our parallel dimensions... and maybe saddam... but for sure, the loafer wearing cubans that charge $5 for a bottle of water... :bored:

I had to vote for Martz, cause we all know that Martz IS the all knowing. That's only because Brenda Warner, (kurt's media agent), wasn't an option.

Well, you know it is a weed, it is harvest time, and if you make the trek to The Hollow, you're bound to brush up against some and get the resin on you. Usually, it only disorientates revenuers though. Long enough for the stills to be hid at least ...

Re: Who do you think is responsible for Bulger becoming the starter?
Martz didn't do it without the backing of his good buddy " Shaw ".
More important..., " was it a good move, and were personal feelings involved? "Last edited by Rams43; -09-24-2004 at 01:52 PM.

I voted for Martz, but Rambos answer was probably closer to the truth. Warner was a victim of circumstance. Circumstance caused by himself and others.

There are many things my father taught me here in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
