Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

Safety is the easiest place out of that group to make it and if OJ has another good year picking he should make it. I would say Spoon, but his position is so hard to make it at and not playing in a premier town hurts. I would also take Jacob Bell in an upset pending on production from SJ. If SJ goes to the pro bowl Bell IMO might join him

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

My vote goes to O.J. because he already has a little buzz from being snubbed last season and he's more likely to have the stats that get noticed. Even if Barron or Bell played spectacularly, it's hard for offensive linemen to get noticed without press. You almost have to be on a winning team. Same thing with Carriker. If people aren't saying you're a great defensive tackle, the stats usually aren't going to tell the tale. On the other hand, lots of tackles, interceptions, or sacks will catch a person's eye on the voting form, so even people who know little to nothing about the player are more likely to vote for them.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I picked Witherspoon, but will argue that both he & Atogwe will be Pro Bowl bound next year.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

i think its easier for a DB or DL to get in than an LB, because if your DB has a lot of INTs or your DL player has a lot of sacks then he will get in, while LBs there are a lot of stats to consider when you look at the player

so i think Hill or Atogwe

I've gone for Atogwe.

If the question were "who do you hope will be the next Ram to make his first pro bowl" I would have voted Carriker or Long.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I went with "other" even though there's no option for that pick.

I just don't see anyone from our defense getting the recognition they deserve from the NFL. The RAMS, since the GSOT days have been known for their offense and I think that's still stuck in alot of heads.

My pick is.........

Josh Brown (Kicker)

We all know, unfortunately, how well he kicks in our DOME!

I picked spoon, but the defense really needs to step it up and play if any of these guys are going to get noticed.

I understand what your saying. I'm saying I'd rather the DL bring the pressure, and if they need Will to get to the QB, that is not a good thing. I think he was having to do that in the second half last season due to the poor pressure the Rams were getting.

I don't think they should be rushing him regularly even if he has a nack for it, unless that is the only way to get pressure on the QB. I am hoping a large portion of that problem from last year is addressed already. And if it is, I wouldn't count on Will being a pass rusher to often. However, I think there may be enough talent up front for him to shine in the MLB position cleaning everything up.

To clarify: I'd rather see 140 plus tackles, 3 sacks vs. 110 tackles 7 sacks from Will. That would be a very impressive season IMO. And it would be good for the team if they still manage to put the pressure on the QB using other means. Him getting 7 plus sacks again probably doesn't bode well for the Rams.

Peace.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

Chris Long simply because the Pro-bowl is an over-rated popularity contest and although Atogwe could have even made it this year, breaking out as a star on a terrible team will always keep him back. Same may go for Carriker if he breaks out this year. Chris Long just has the hype to get him there.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I'm thinking Josh Brown. If Spoon didn't get in with the kind of season he had, he wont get in next season. OJ is way under the radar and won't get in the popularity bowl aka pro bowl. Tye Hill won't make it cause, well, he is Tye Hill.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I voted for Long. Not so much because I think he really will be the next 1st time Pro-Bowl player, but because I'm really hoping that he'll be that kind of an impact player right from the start.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I'd love to see Spoon go. He seems to be a big defensive leader and if he went it'd be a big boost to the rest of the young guys. But so would any defensive player going really.
Honestly I'd just like to see Justin King get some decent playing time in. I hope to see him develope into something promising.

Not that far fetched at all to imagine Chris Long garnering a Pro Bowl invite. The DE position certainly provides ample venue for players to be noticed who possess an abundance of talent. Another plus is the fact that Chris Long is arguably the most NFL ready defensive player in the 2008 draft.

Last year Patrick Willis scooped defensive rookie of the year along with an invite to the Pro Bowl. Chris Long has as good shot as any defensive rookie this year .. actually better than most.

Re: Who will be the next Ram to make his first Pro Bowl?

I put Spoon, because I feel he is the best player, and will have the best season. I only have one compliant with that list, and thats that Clifton Ryan isnt on the list, but Carriker is. Yes Adam was the first round pick, and Ryan was a 5th, but statwise Ryan had the better year last year.
