Question Who's Going To Replace Roland Williams?

Who's out there that we can pick up? Chad Lewis maybe, is Billy Miller available? Any suggestions people.

I don't think we can go with Jeff Robinson.

How bad is Manu hurt? Hopefully he will be back vs the Seahawks

I honestly don't think we pick up anyone. Maybe bring Collins back, but I dunno.

So Nick you think we will just go with Manu then, and not run any 2 TE sets.

I heard Turley wants to play some TE.

My vote goes to Big Ben Wallace:

6'9" and 240. Sounds like a good red zone target to me.

Hedgecock and Manu can both play either spot. Maybe you leave Manu at FB and put Hedgecock at TE.
Also you have Massey as another FB option with Manu at TE. If Massey goes back to FB then two TEs could be Hedgecock and Manu. Then there is Danger Will Robinson the unknown. Not great options but our only ones with in.

I think Cledius Hunt. I think he would be able to get downfield pretty quickly and who can move him?

Personally? I think you move Manu back to TE to start in place of Williams, use Robinson as your second tight end while calling fewer two tight end sets, and think about giving Joey Goodspeed a call to challenge Hedgecock as the starting fullback. For all the hype, I didn't see anything out of Madison today.

Collins would be my choice then Cleeland but, would take advantage of Collins size and speed

Unhappy Re: Who's Going To Replace Roland Williams?

Cleeland has been somewhat effective in the past. But this
weeks game with the Giants really showed the lack of
direction on the coaches plan. And lots of question marks
with 4 games done. Jackson needs to heal and place Marshall to take some short pass gains.
But Martz is just not helping with his play calling lately.
Just like in the last drive at SF. He seems to be always
mentioning that he could, should , and must adjust better.
He is starting to sound like he does not have a good grasp
    on the gameplan.:clanram:

Packer's released Ben Steele yesterday. Young tight end, looks like more of a blocking tight end that also plays special teams:

    Height: 6-4
    Weight: 233
    Born: 05/27/1978
