Re: Why does everybody want to replace our good players?

I agree, we should get rid of Chillar, whoever talks about getting rid of Pisa is crazy, the best OLB we have, leads us in tackles 2 yrs running.. He's fast, and can tackle.. I agree with the Chavous Statement, not the best safety in the roster!! Steven Jackson will stay, he's a featured back that shows power, breakaway speed and awareness, just needs to hold on to the ball a lil better! also, Pace should stay, there should be zero talk about replacing him, there is no replacing him! He has a few more years in him not 1 or 2.. He'll be here a lil while longer, cause everyone knows he's good, and good on the feet. Every player is gonna go through its injuries, and he's one of them! he'll be back!!

Re: Why does everybody want to replace our good players?

I think its all a case of looking for answers in a desperate season. No harm in that.

Its almost unfair to single players out, even at this stage, because of the context within which their performances lie. Its a situation where its tough for anyone to shine.

There will be changes at seasons end and there has to be, but whether Pisa, Jacko and Pace will be among the casualties I seriously doubt.

Tinoisamoa does not lead the team in tackles this year, nor did he last year.

Year Player Tackles Solo Assist
2006 Tinoisamoa 36 29 7
2006 Atogwe 41 38 3
2006 Chillar 56 55 1
2006 Chavous 86 77 9
2006 Witherspoon 113 99 14

2007 Tinoisamoa 32 25 7
2007 Chavous 36 30 6
2007 Chillar 37 27 10
2007 Atogwe 41 38 3
2007 Witherspoon 70 61 9

Stats courtesy of NFL.com

I'd think the outside linebackers would have a major role in stopping the outside run, and yet that seems to be where we're giving up the big gains on the ground this year. It doesn't seem like I hear Pisa's name called much in the games. Sorry, just have to play devil's advocate here.
