Why Does This Organization Have Low Expectations Year after Year?

Every year for the last 10 years have been so horrible.

This team doesn't have any motivation to improve.

Our Franchise quarterback goes down and are biggest move is getting Brady Quinn.REALLY??>>

Is that what a team who cares about winning does? Fisher comes out 7 games in and says TRADES ARE NOT A OPTION.

IF we really cared wouldn't everything be on the table for improvement. This season is over and the management and ownership has given up on this team already. Stan is the richest owner in the NFL. He has the capacity to save this season. But no. He is willing to throw it all away. Must be tanking for the move to LA. It is the only reasonable reason.

Or maybe it's because you can't just go and find a franchise QB in the middle of an NFL season.... I think if it was that easy then every team would do it. Giving up a future asset in order to get a mediocre backup QB from another team for half a season isn't a smart decision even you might win 1 or 2 more games because of it. There aren't any QB's out there at the moment that could bring this team to the playoffs but if you have any actual suggestions then I would love to hear them.

Re: Why Does This Organization Have Low Expectations Year after Year?

There is a glaring re-occurring theme with the Rams team(s) through the last 10years, a strong showing one season to be followed with a pathetic play the next. I mostly pinned the problem with ownership--Lady Georgina didn't have the sports acumen and entrusted the team to accountants--her heirs, were more artsy tea toddlers interested more in a meal ticket then taking pride in the team.

Now the Rams have a chance with Kroenke. For the most part, unlike Jerry Jones, he has let football minds build his team. For my part I am counting on him to demand results--if it came out he is behind the scenes asking questions and making demands, I wouldn't be surprised.

Its the organization itself I believe is the issue. Few can complain about talent that's been brought in--we would like more of it of course, but on the whole its very good. However, the breakdown has come with how its used. Issues of discipline, professionalism, consistency, play calling and motivation has brought the Rams to this point. To that point it falls with the coaching staff.

Affective head coaches surrounds himself with excellent staff. Anyone really that happy with either the OC/DC? Anyone happy with all the penalties and miss starts? That's both the coordinators and assistant coaches whom we can point a finger at. But all in all its Jeff Fisher who put that staff together.

Likely at the end of this season, Fisher will either be looking for a job or given the do-or-die next season speech. Personally I hope ownership has had his butt on the plate already

The notion that the lack of success is due to "low expectations" is silly.

Trades aren't an option because there's no one worth trading for. Why waste picks on a QB that wont be starting next year? Oh, and ask the Vikings how starting a QB after knowing the offense for a week went.

And the Cards, who have shown themselves to be a pretty decent team this year even with lackluster QB play from Palmer

Who ever thought that Fisher n co would turn things around in less than 3 years? No one on this board whatsoever. This team needed a complete roster upheaval after Linehan and Spags pkayed tititlewinks with our beloved Rams for 6 years. We have been the youngest team in the league now for the last two years in a row and it shows. The Rams will only continue to get better as they do not have any major roster decisions or salary cap issues over the next 2-3 years. We all knew years 2014 and 2015 would be the measuring stick.

The problem is with this team is that Fisher should too much improvement in 2012 which brought instant expectations from our fanbase. In 2012 not a single soul thought we'd win over 6 games.

How could you possibly know the expectations this organization placed on themselves?

A lot of people had playoff expectations for the Rams in 2013.

    Expectations? Or hopes?
