Brian Stull of 101ESPN St. Louis says that David Vobora could sue the manufacturer of a supplement containing the banned ingredient behind the linebacker's four-game suspension. Stull says: "In fact, the NFLPA had appealed the initial result of the test -- and the source states Vobora had properly called the 'hot line' for players to check supplements and the product was cleared as not having any banned substance in its listed contents. A different source close to the situation shares there will likely be legal action taken on Vobora's behalf against the manufacturer -- as toxicology testing revealed the supplement did contain the banned substance, despite it not being included on the product label."

i supported Vobora in this as stated in the original thread about the incident..im not so sure those who couldnt wait a lil while before condemning the kid will want to change their mind tho,no matter what comes about now...sadly.

wonder if he`ll get the suspension suspended till further investigation like the Williams`s in Minn etc...

From a legal standpoint, the NFLPA probably cannot release this information, especially if they/Vobora take legal action ...

The question I have is:

If a player like Vobora follows all the legal channels, checks with the hotline like he is supposed to, takes a cleared substance, then it turns up dirty, why in the hell is he suspended? He did everything right, yet gets punished in the end ....

If a PLAYER is ultimately responsible for what he puts in his body, then ban ALL supplements. Any manufacturer could change course one day and decide to put low levels of steroids in their substance to enhance their results. Then the supplement looks like a miracle product. Do you think they are going to write on the label "this could contain steroids?". I don't think so ...

This HOTLINE is B.S. if it's going to work this way. It should be real simple, there should be someone knowledgable enough on the end of that HOTLINE to say "Yes, you can take this" or "No, you cannot". It should be recorded and documented ...

There should be no gray area ...

Wow I feel for Vobora. He got screwed. Hopefully the NFL will lift his suspension, he doesn't deserve to be punished for something that was the manufacturers fault.

It's been pushed before by players that they would file a lawsuit because a supplement contained something it shouldn't have. Every time after the media gets off of it, something else slips out that the guy was taking other things. It's rumor, not fact at this point.

When Manny was busted we heard much the same stories but that slowly changed over the next few weeks.

Show me ONE story where there was evidence that the player in question called the established substance HOTLINE and got approval, then got burned ...

There may be one, but I don't know of it ....

I think the Williams tandem in Minnesota did this last year Infiniti. I think that's why they are still playing and their suspension was put on hiatus.

If he followed all the proper steps and the league hotline said it was okay, then there is no way he should be suspended.

I didn't say they called the hotline. I said players have blamed the supplements for having stuff they shouldn't have and upon true evaluation after the story is settled, more information came out that was very different. Blaming tainted supplements is a popular defense.

Right now Vobora's agent is giving info about their own personal toxicology report on the product. That couldn't possibly be a spin move to deflect media attention to reduce pressure for a coach that has a highly touted pillars philosophy? My guess, we'll never hear another word about this after the dust settles and he's sure to be kept on the roster.

thats one side of the story and according to part of the story whatever he took was not league certified so why take it then. they said it would not yield a positive test yet it is not certified by the NFL,so what would you do ? I would not take it until it made the NFL list.

yeah ditto..although i do support Vobora in this case..i do think that they should save the hassle and just go the old skool gladiator route and just eat healthily and train hard!
