Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
I'd have to say, options 2,3, and 6 sums it up for me.
Most of my family and friends say, it's because I'm a "d@^#ed fool", but that's neither here nor there.
I just tell them it's because, I wouldn't know how else to explain the Blue and Gold blood running through my veins.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
I grew up near Anaheim. Went to games, met some players.
I am a football fan. I appreciate the sport. But I always will be a Rams fan first.Semper Fi

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
Why I became one - I was born in St. Louis. I grew up rooting for my local team. There wasn't much more to it than that.
Why I remain one - Loyalty. I operate on a "Once I pick a side, I stick with it" type of mantra. Even though I live in a Chief-heavy part of Missouri, I always wear my Steven Jackson jersey with pride. Rams fan now, Rams fan forever.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
Good poll. I don't think I'd get the experience of being a fan if I wasn't loyal to my team. Sometimes I'll follow other teams--especially when the Rams aren't in the playoffs and I need someone to root for--but there isn't the same emotional investment when you haven't been with them since the beginning. It's not as exciting when they win and (thankfully) not as demoralizing when they lose. A decade ago, the Rams were the closest thing to a home team in the NFL where I lived, but after sticking with the team for a certain amount of time, being a fan becomes a part of your identity.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
The primary reason, loyalty. If you don't stick with your team because they have bad years you are not a real fan, plain and simple. The secondary reason, I couldn't see myself not being a Rams fan. I love this team even though they have made me mad the past Sundays. Its a team I have rooted years for and switching just would not feel right.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
When I think of loyalty in football terms I think of the Ain't fans who wore the sacks over their heads - to every home game. They were making a statement about the team - that they loved anyway.
How they must have felt to finally get to take off those sacks. I hope we don't have to go that far - but we will if we must.Patient, not saintly.

When they ask paper or plastic, don't go plastic. It can be hazardous to your intended purpose.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
I've been a fan longer than AvengerRam and nowadays I'm just hanging on to outlast him.
Even though that is a very good reason - it's not true.
Basically I was born into Rams fanhood. I could stop if I wanted to, really I could, however, that would involve completely giving up the NFL and aside from that, I don't want to stop, but really I could.

Re: Why are you STILL a Rams fan?
I fell in love with the Rams in 1953 when my dad took me to my first game. I have always considered them "my team." I actually cried when I saw them listed as the "St. Louis Rams" in the newspaper back in 1995, but then I realized that my days of having the season tickets were long gone anyway. I didn't live in the L.A. area anymore, and so what...they were my team no matter where they were located! We're in the digital age now and with DirecTV, who cares...?
