Will Bradford be ready by Week 1 next season?

Was thinking about this as well as the RG3 ACL return, would this be a possibility?

RG3 tore his ACL and his LCL, while Sam only tore his ACL. That, along with the fact that Sam had his surgery about six weeks earlier in the year than RG3 suggests that there is a pretty good chance that Sam will be ready to go by Week 1.

Also, you have to remember that RG3 needs to run a lot more than Sam to be an effective quarterback, which is why he has struggled when compared to his rookie year

I've seen nothing to make me believe he won't be ready by week 1.

I was particularly pleased that they waited until Sam had good flexibility in the affected knee before doing the surgery. I didn't know that the more flexible before surgery the knee is, the better flexibility will be retained post-surgery in recovery. This, plus everything else was very "clean" in the affected area.

This whole event makes me wonder if wearing the left knee brace really has much preventative effect...? To my knowledge that was the only reason for Sam wearing one. They made him wear one in college to I think. He's never had knee issues I'm aware of.

things like braces can prevent extra injury to prevent movement

but by preventing movement you give the body an opportunity to move in a way it's not designed and if THAT leads to an injury it's much harder to heal

like people that wear high tops or ankle braces....that ankle needs to move to not be injured as best it can...if it can't move in one area, if there's enough force...it will move one way or another and those people won't like it

I will also note that (speaking from experience) the fact that Sam apparently did not also tear a meniscus (as I did when I tore my ACL) is key. Meniscus tears can produce long-term pain and, in many cases, osteoarthritis (if the meniscus is removed).

While it seems almost silly to phrase it this way, Sam had the best type of ACL tear one could hope for.

I only hope that if he's not ready, that the team will take the necessary time to ensure he returns when he's healthy. Given his salary I'm certain there will be no risk taking. Get well soon Sam!

    Go Rams!

This is key. Anyone else feel like the Skins kind of rushed RGIII back?

The fans rushed Rg3 back into the game. I think he'll be fine. Clean tear, only his ACL, no other damage. Rams seem to play it extremely safe but the Redskins seemed to want him back as soon as he could start walking.
