a 16 game healthy kris jenkins and an impact player or two in the draft on our D and we are glory bound...who can say where we will get in the playoffs but the NFC west will be back in our pocket!

Jenkins is no doubt a difference maker but I think there's still a good shot if we grab a DT in the 1st or 2nd round to make the playoffs

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
I'm sure we'll need him. We get a good NT, we can have a great front 4, an above average linebacker corps and an average secondary with one of the best, if not the best offenses in the NFL.
Along with whoever we choose to pick up in the draft, it will free up more options to fix our other big needs like RE.

Will the Jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
Well, no, I wouldn't say KJ puts a "guarantee" on the 2007 season playoffs as in a Namathian assurance (Joe's famous guarantee to win SB III) but ... I sure do believe this DT, with a healthy 16 game stretch, would make it highly likely and probable!
We still have to see that a strong selection at draft pick No. 13 pans out not only for the future of our defense but to help win a couple of games or three this season. In other words, that this pick may perhaps not be the immediate impact sensation we often crave for but that he -- hopefully a DL -- may make a noticeable and solid difference in productivity.
My vote for this poll is a resounding 'YES' but I just wanted to clarify we shouldn't expect any "guarantees" from a Jenkins trade.

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
We were almost playoff bound last year without him. IMO the Rams will be better this year. After one year in the new system, Big-O back, Pisa healthy, Draft as the other LB, Hall veteran DE, Proven veteran TE, Our young guys on the OL with a year under their belt, Our DBs knowing their roles, and we have yet to draft anyone. We will be playoff bound with or without. How far we go in the playoffs will be determined by wheter or not we sign Jenkins. We need him to have a shot at going deep into the playoffs.

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
I think he definitely improves our chances significantly, but on the other hand I don't think the playoffs are out of the question if we don't get him.
My question is, what are you willing to give up to get him? I'd be thrilled with 3rd round pick but I fear Carolina will want much more than that.

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
I don't think so. We still have question marks at the "other' defensive end side and we still need a solid safety and CB.

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
We SHOULD make the playoffs as long as, don't wanna jinx anybody so I won't say his name,"S.J." dont get hurt. With our offense if we don't go to the playoffs, I will want Linehan's head! I understand if our defense (lack of) keeps us from the superbowl, but MUST MAKE PLAYOFFS!!!

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
I see us, what with playing in a fairly weak division, being able to get to the playoffs on the back of our offense alone. That said, we will need a player like Jenkins to be able to go anywhere in the playoffs and potentially win the Superbowl

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
Let's not go nuts. I'm not sure how Jenkins, or any player we draft guarantees us a playoff spot. We're a few key defenders away from making a good run, IMO.
With that said, our offense may well carry us over the line...the other team can't score if they don't have the football. Of course, that would require us to win the coin toss in every game.

Re: will the jenkins trade determine our playoff berth for next season?
I'm positive we could still make the playoffs w/o him but we could sure use his help. Things could be alot easier with a solid front four.
