Will the Rams win the NFC West?

BY ROGER HENSLEY Monday, November 8, 2010 12:20 pm

QUESTION: Will the Rams win the NFC West?

    JIM THOMAS

Itís certainly there for the taking. But the Rams have to show they can win a couple, three games on the road. And with five of their final eight away from the friendly confines, thatís a tall task. Keep an eye on Arizona at 3-5. The Big Red have five of their final eight at home, and have the easiest remaining schedule of any of the NFC West teams. Winning on the road will be the key. So far Seattle is the only NFC West team to win on the road against a non-division opponent.

    BILL COATS

Defending champ Arizona has, by far, the easiest schedule the rest of the way. Plus, the Cardinals have five home games out of the last eight. The Rams open the second half with four road games in five weeks. If they can come out of that stretch with three wins, I like their chances.

    JEFF GORDON

Until the Rams prove capable of winning a road game, I canít pick them. Arizona has the best team everywhere but at quarterback. The Cardinals also have a soft schedule, with the likes of Dallas and Carolina left, as well as the Rams at home and two games with the *****. If Arizona can pick off injury-battered Seattle next week, it can get headed back in the right direction. And unlike the other division teams, this team has won with this coach before.

    BRYAN BURWELL

Itís still too early to know, but of all the flawed teams in this division, the Rams feel the least flawed of a flawed bunch. While Arizona and Seattle seem to be on the downslide, the young Rams seem to be improving. But since they have yet to prove they can win on the road I am reluctant to say the NFC West is theirs.

    KATHLEEN NELSON

Put me down for a big, fat, definite maybe. At the beginning of the season, the second half of the Ramsí schedule seemed more difficult than the first. Now, not so much. The ***** still seem lost and even the Seahawks have been vulnerable at home. Tough games against New Orleans and the Falcons await the Rams, though, and you never know which bunch of Gridbirds will show up when the Rams travel to Arizona. The Rams will need to see continued improvement from Sam Bradford and a receiver to step up and be the go-to guy. Maybe most important, the team has to stay healthy.

Why worry about winning the division when we have to beat the niners in a couple days

Hmmm Steven Jackson or Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower???

Thinking these writers are trying to temper expectations.

We are the best in the west, and should win the division.

All I had to do was read the writer's names... Jeff Gordon, and I knew I should think opposite of them

It all depends if we can start winning on the road. This upcoming game is a huge game for us. Beating the niners would give this team some confidence on the road and conversely losing would be a huge blow(and a terrible sign for the rest of the year).
