I'm not too upset about this. I had concerns about Williams because of his reputation as a real ball buster.

Could you define what you mean by "ball buster'?

It really was not feasible considering the guy runs a 3-4 and we barely have two LB's. I suppose one could convert Little into a 3-4 backer, but there is not much else on the current roster for the 3-4 scheme. Not to mention we'd still need an even more important OC.

Yeah, in honesty i see your point, just all the 'hype' and rumour- mill made Williams/Skins/Rams out to be much more than what is was, however i did think he was going to get the job IMHO!

Basically, his rep is that he's never happy and a lot of players don't like playing for him.

Hmmm....thought he was a 3-4 guy for some reason.

Regardless, it appears he would rather stay where he is than get mixed up with the Rams FO.

I think the level of the Redskin's defensive play speaks volumes in terms of William's ability to get players to play...I think that is exactly what our D needs...a Parcells like no frills..perform or get the f(*& out mandate

Not too upset, never saw him as our only choice in any case. There's other equally good candidates.

Williams was the hottest prospect. Many teams (I think everyone but KC) was interested in Williams. They essentially promised him Gibbs job.

I think he'll be a big-time coach when he gets his shot. I'm sure it was Gibbs that told the Redskins they'd better not let Williams walk.

It's too bad, but I like what I've been reading about Rivera.
