Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

Glad to see Mcmichael, sign Wistrom as long as we don't have to pay him much just because we could use some more depth, but personally, I could care less because he is still and always will be a dirty trader.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

Wistrom seems to have durability issues and is getting a bit long in the tooth for a football player.

He no doubt can add some dimension to our team but needs to sign for a relatively modest fee and be willing to possibly be a part -time player.

The needs of the team should win out over anyone one player's ego.

True. I wouldn't mind having back as a Ram but only as DE depth - and inexpensive.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

Wistrom was a decent DE at best. His greatest asset was his strong motor. He provided some good memorable plays when he was in Stl. but i think its time for him to move on. the Rams need to move forward and develope younger talent. If we pick him up, it would definately be a step backwards.

I don't know about durability issues. He's played every game of the past two seasons. However, his production has fallen off significantly. He's not the long-term answer, but as a Wistrom fan, I'd love to see him come back.

And it doesn't surprise me that he's interested in coming back to St. Louis. He's a 31-year-old unemployed defensive lineman......he's interested in ANY town with a football team.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

For dirt cheap maybe 3 years 10 million why not bring him back he would be great depth and playing in a rotation he may be able to avoid some of those injuries.

The man can still play football.

I'd pay him league minimum, that's it. He's lost two steps, not just one.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

from what I read, he was injured the last two seasons. that's why he wasn't as strong as he used to be. now he's healthy and i think he'll be strong this year because he'll be back to where he loves to play at. with 4 pass rushers if we sign wistrom, we'll have them rotate every other downs with so much energy. that'll wear down the tackles and reduce the double teaming on little. i think the sack total will go up this year, but we definitely need a strong, big DT. will we draft one in 1st round? i'd go after a tall CB in 1st round then draft a huge DT in 2nd round OR trade down 1st round and get an extra pick in the 2nd, draft a CB in 1st, draft a WR and DT in 2nd.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

He would be a nice addition if we could get him cheap. He sounds motivated and he would be a good leader in the locker room and on the field.

Re: Wistrom Interested In coming back to st.louis!!

League minimum only. Strange, we sign top notch players on offense but when it comes to the defense it seems like we look for bargain basement prices.

Coakley
Chavous
Glover

At least we signed Spoon.

We certainly aren't breaking the bank on defense. I hope the FO has big plans for the D in the draft.

I wouldn't mind it. Just don't overpay him like the Seahawks did.
