Word has it
you can take this with a grain of salt, but....
The Dolphins were bringing in a running back regaurdless if it wasn't Gordon and they weren't going to pay more than a 3rd. Word has it that if the Rams didn't pull the trigger Clevland would have with James Jackson or the Jets with Jordan or the Bears with Thomas. If we would have asked any more they would have passed on Gordon and went another direction.

That sounds about right. Gordon was gone at the end of this season anyway. He's a talented guy and somebody would have offered 2nd string or even 1st string money which we weren't going to match to keep a 3rd string back. Our comp on him would have been probably 5th round at best. We got the best we could for him.
