Re: Would you do this deal for vilma?

Obviously I am a Rams fan first, but my AFC team is the Jets.

The trade would be great for the rams, but the jets would be getting hosed.

I know you said it was a lot of speculation, but has there been any news about Vilma being unhappy?

Re: Would you do this deal for vilma?

Witherspoon is the MLB, we need a strong side linebacker, Vilma, Pisa and Spoon in the same D not a great choice to improve our run defense, they need big NT.

Re: Would you do this deal for vilma?

I like Vilma. However, I wouldn't do it. We need help, on the D-Line FIRST. Give me a couple of good DTs, and another hard charging DE. I bet you'd be amazed at how good our linebackers would look with a 1st rate D-Line. A really good line makes the rest of the defense better. It will also show us our most glaring weaknesses (probably DBs).

Re: Would you do this deal for vilma?

There is no way the Jets do this deal. At first I loved the idea of acquiring Vilma but the more I think about it the more I think it would be a mistake. Using our first round pick to get another smallish linebacker and not addressing our dt position would be a huge mistake. Now if the Jets did make this trade(which they won't) we could still acquire Tank at the 25th pick and maybe solve two needs.

Re: Would you do this deal for vilma?

No guarantee a NT from the draft will shore up our run D. Since most of the D lineman require time to develop into starting caliber players. Unfortunately, this years free agency was very slim for the D-Line......
