I suspect this will be the Clan's first unanimous poll.

The thought occurred to me during the telecast when they mentioned that Fairchild played for Martz at some little college. Maybe its me, but I don't think that's a very good criteria for selecting assistants.

Hired the best personnel possible. I am not fond of the buddy system. It's often difficult to truly criticize or correct your friends. Plus, friends don't serve as a threat to your authority. In the end, production and results seem to suffer...and accountability is almost nill...

I doubt there will be a dissenter on this thread.

Well, you have to pick someone that you can work with and agree on philosophy, so it's understandable to look within the circle of people you have come across in your time in the league...Look at how Parcells goes out and gets his coaches and players, etc...

But at some point, if it just becomes a matter of hiring people because you are comfortable with them, it's the wrong decision.

I'm sure Martz thought that Marmie could do better on a team with talent, vs. the Cardinals, but that didn't work. (Not that the Rams actually had the talent, but probably the perception that perhaps Marmie was in AZ and could do better with STL.)

    Bad choice, definitely.

Why haven't they fired Fairchild? With all that talent and the offense not producing like it should?

The only thing dumber than this poll is the fact that somebody voted for the first one. What a loser!
