    Would you re-sign Clayton??

Its funny how perceptions change over time.

Pre-Draft - I would be really upset if we didnt re-sign Clayton ..
    Post-Draft - I still think we should re-sign Clayton ..
Post FA - Um, i'd like to have him back, but i think it wont be the end of the world if we don't.

You can argue either way with Clayton, great chemistry / injury risk .. Need more depth vs too many WR's on the roster already ... Rookies need a spot as well etc etc..

Im voting not to re-sign, but if they cut gilyard / gibson, i would hope they would bring him back.

But the Question is ... You are the F.O, would you sign him up given the current situation?

I would only bring him back if during the regular season a wr got injured and was expected to be out a while. Other than that no

nope... mike sims walker took his spot... now we have austin pettis who has sure hands.. salas who i heard is doing great... DX has potential to be a star. amendola who we already know is great. and avery who will burn defenders. Gilyard = practice squad.. never liked gibson

I'd put him in the roster once our one of our WRs gets injured, he deserves a chance with us and he'll have time in the PUP list to heal that patella of his.

    Re: Would you re-sign Clayton??

I voted no, I don't think he's necessary at this point. I feel that he can't contribute anything new or special to our current flock of receivers. I do thank him for his efforts last year, but we can't hold onto someone based on nostalgia for 1/2 season of production.

I could, however, justify signing him for the league minimum and putting him on the PUP list. If we lose a couple of guys to injury (between MSW, Avery, and DX it could happen) then we could have a spot for him mid season. If not he is king of the practice squad or we trade him to another team with injuries for a late round pick. But there are a lot of "what ifs" in here and I doubt he would agree to it anyways.

One of the reporters got it wrong, so it shows up in google search that Mark signed with Giants.

Before the MSW signing and Claytons injury, hell yes.

After those events im saying NO unless we have some injuries during the season.

    Great question.

It is a conditional situation of course, health wise. But if he'd get 90% and up to being himself , I'd resign him.

I'm not going to give up on clayton... he came in mid season and lit it up!!! he got injured .. but it happens ... if the injury is a changer.. that's one thing... If not ... it is a Scott L move to pass on him. ..

Just because we drafted some good Wrs and signed mike sims walker doesn't mean they will do well with Bradford. clayton has already PROVED that he can. The other WRS have NOT.

that`s kinda what i`d do..with him being injured we don`t have to rush into resigning him. we can leave him out there, let our currently healthy wideouts fight it out and take things from there when the time comes that Clayton is healthy again. i very much doubt any other team would jump ahead of us for Clayton.

    Re: Would you re-sign Clayton??

Yes, especially considering how, in recent reports, the WRs are dropping. He was a valuable asset and, at the very least, should have a spot on this roster. He had a connection with Bradford and they looked sharp together. Why let that possibly go somewhere else?
