Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
I appreciate all he's done, but this is a business and he has fallen off greatly. I dont want to hear poor SJax, there is no loyalty. Dont feel bad for him he became a millionaire doing what he loves. Now if someone offered a 2nd in the 30's I'd do it in a hot sec. What do you guys think?

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
Absolutely not. Jax has not been the problem, it has been the interior of the O-line. It doesn't matter who we have running the ball as long as the O-line can not run block well.
If we can get that fixed quickly, than I think Jackson will have at least two more good years of running the ball very effectively. If it doesn't get fixed, we would have to go back in time and bring back Barry Sanders in his prime to get a good running game.

U can never say never, id rather keep him a Ram unless we take a nosedive next year for whatever reason. I think teams know his value and a 2nd rounder is nowhere near the mark.

I wouldn't trade him for the Panthers 1st pick this draft.

If a team also included a pretty good replacement RB under 30, I'd have to consider that.

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
I think it would be foolish to trade a Top 3 running back in this league without a proven, talented replacement ready to take over for him. Especially when a substantial portion of the running game problems have been with the blocking.

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
Jackson is worth a lot more than a second round pick. If I was Denevy it would take a lot for me to consider trading a player like Jackson, However, I don't think it would be the worst idea to throw him out there and see what he would fetch.

I disagree with Alec, I have lots of disrespect for you and your opinion and anyone who would agree with you.
Steven Jackson is the heart and soul of this team. He provides so much more to this team than rushing yards and touchdowns.
To suggest you would trade him for a second round pick... just... just...no.Last edited by C-Mob 71; -01-08-2011 at 06:55 PM.

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
Even though his production has dropped off, he still commands alot of respect from defenses. Without him you might as well throw out all the play action plays in the playbook and throw Bradford to the wolves.

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
He's more valuable to us than anyone else, that's really what it comes down to.
Stupid way of thinking to not figure this out.

Re: Would you take a 2nd for SJax?
Oh yeah.. how his production has dropped! He's obviously over the hill and done.
He only got 1241 yards rushing(Last year he got just over 1400, with 2 years of just over 1000 before that), and only had 383 yards receiving(2nd highest total behind 2006). He only increased his TD's from 4 to 6 this year, while only reducing his fumbles from 2 to 1. Jax has to go!
No. Until we get someone who at least smells like he could carry the load, it's foolish to talk about trading Jackson for anything, short of multiple high picks, like a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 2011 draft. Even after we get someone who can take over for Steven, then he's at least worth a 1st and 2nd round pick, if not two 1sts.I believe!
