I wouldn't make either trade. Holt is more valuable to this team than a top cornerback would be, especially considering the recent emphasis on contact rules in the secondary that works against the notion of a shut-down corner.

Right now Holt is simply what Marshall Faulk was for our offense a few years ago. That is, in terms of the intrinsic value of a chess piece on the board. His presence holds much of the power for our Rams offense.

Come on, dude....seriously, 16 is an awfully young age to lose your credibility. Fact is, there is NO corner in the league worth trading Holt. The value brought to this team by the #1 corner in the league regardless of who that corner is, will never meet the value Holt brings to this team.

I would agonize over this trade:

Champ Bailey for Torry Holt.

I'd go back and forth so much on this idea that I'd feel like a tennis ball in the French Open.

Argument against making the trade. The cornerbacks skills deteriorate with age at a faster rate than the wide recievers. Peak performance for peak performance, they may be about equal, but holt will retain a higher percentage of his peak value for longer than bailey (probably and of course, depending on injuries). Same reason why washington got killed trading portis for bailey, the corner lasts longer than the running back. Why washington thought that they needed to ADD a high draft pick for the honor of getting beat on bailey for portis will never make any sense to me, one of the dumbest deals i have ever seen.

Assuming that chris mccallister plays for the Ravens.

Hell Ray Lewis sitting on the sideline or in a wheelchair is better than LB we have.
