Former football player Wroten arrested

Former LSU football player Claude Wroten Jr. was arrested Thursday on one count of simple criminal damage to property.

Wroten, St. Louis Rams defensive lineman, was charged after officers were dispatched to West Campus Apartments around 9 p.m. regarding a disturbance.

LSUPD spokesman Maj. Lawrence Rabalais said officers found Wroten and his girlfriend having an argument regarding the end of their relationship.

Rabalais said Wroten requested items he bought for his girlfriend to be returned to him.

Rabalais said the girlfriend refused, and Wroten allegedly forcibly entered her room by kicking the door open and removing the items.

Wroten, who is no longer a University student, was issued a misdemeanor summons for damage to property.

Wroten was also arrested in 2006 for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Uh Oh....It will be interesting to see how this is addressed by the League and our RAMS.

You must have forgotten how bad Phillips was then because Wroten is no where near that, yet. The thing that bothers me is all these players know that their behavior is being watched so closely yet they still do bonehead things like this. Hey Claude ever heard of Judge Judy, she can your stuff back and you dont have to get arrested for it. Plus dont you make enough money to buy all new stuff and find a hotter girlfriend?

I just don't think this is that serious. He wasn't drunk and driving, he didn't hit or make any physical contact with anybody. He just kicked down a door to get his stuff. If that's the worse thing anybody every does then they'll be fine.

Biggame has a good point, and this is FAR from a lawrence phillips situation, there isnt even an allegation that he touched her. That being said, this is exactly the kind of distraction that wroten doesnt need. Failiing to control his temper is a sign of immaturity and even if its a misdeamenor, its still bad news. Given the title of this thread, it could have been a lot lot worse.

How is anyone going to say "what a stupid move..blah blah blah"?
Seriously..EVERYONE has an argument with their spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend..w/e.
This stuff happens all the time to the best of us...who are we to judge?

Sure, he's in the public eye, but he has a life too.
Often, relationships causes many men not to think properly at times...haha.
So yeah...no big deal. I was expecting that it was for the possessing marijuana.

I agree that this is by far on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of off the field incidents specifically those regarding domestic disputes, but for someone who already has an eye on him for issues off the field, you can't be happy about this story. Still, in the grand scheme of things, relatively minor.

I'm not ready to kick the guy off the team or anything like that, but why would he do this? I don't care how minor it is. Everybody knows you can't go around kicking people's doors in. For a guy trying to prove himself to both the team and to the NFL, this is the last thing he needs to be doing.

Not to mention, if there is one thing we don't need, its more problems with our DL.

Let's face it, this WAS stupid. To get in a situation where the police are called and an arrest is made is not something that happens to people all the time. That said, it could have been a lot worse and hopefully it's an isolated incident and doesn't point to any kind of pattern.

Who in the world is Stacy Coco? // Anyway, if this was a true case, oh, brother... even if it is a misdemeanor... can't these players understand that the NFL is trying to sanction itself with a more disciplined, cleaner behavior which stems from the people -- the individuals -- that comprise it and, therefore, are being held accountable for their actions!?!
