For me, this was a tough choice. I think the Rams will use their FA money on other spots, so I went with Amendola, Clayton, Avery, Alexander and the two rookies.

I picked the same as you AV. I like what out FO is doing getting Bradford some new talent to improve the offense. I just hope that Salas and Pettis can easily beat out the rest of the WR's?

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
I picked the same for the same reasons. I wish we would sign a WR but don't think we will now. Gilyard and Robinson proved to be garbage. Gibson showed some flashes. I don't think he will ever be consistent and always made boneheaded plays, but I kind of wish we would give him 1 more year to learn and see if I was wrong about him. I don't see the rams cutting a 3rd or 4th rounder a few months after they draft them instead of Gibson.

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
My Top 6:
Amendola - Easy pick. Our most consistent, reliable, durable, receiver. He rules the slot and will shine with the focus taken off him.
Avery - Too much talent not too. If his speed is back, he'll see plenty of work.
Alexander - A freak athlete with more potential than nerds at a Star Trek convention. Regardless of his health issues, he will win a spot.
Clayton - Works well with Bradford and showed some real skills last year. Should be a starter.
Pettis - We drafted him in round 3. He'll probably earn a spot because of that and his incredible hands.
Salas - Salas is my borderline guy. I think it'll come down between him and Gibson, who I'm not convinced he's much of an upgrade over.

I have a feeling that DX might be gone. It almost seems like the coaching staff is going for big moderately fast receivers without injury problems. It will be interesting... Avery, is probably safe because of his speed, but if he's gets hurt again, bye, bye. Overall looks like we're building a dink and dunk offense with the hopes of creating mismatches.

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
I went with Amendola and Clayton as the starters, Pettis slot, with Avery, Alexander and Salas rounding out the top six. In truth, I think we'll only have five on the active roster, but I could see carrying one more on the practice squad because of all the injuries we've had over the last few years.

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
These are the WR's I chose.
(1) Pettis & (2) Salas are on the team. Both known as (not smurf type) big WR's with sure hands, but not super fast.
(3) Amendola as slot. Gilyard was drafted to be the nifty slot guy last year in the 3rd.
(4) Alexander only big fast deep threat on roster.
(5) Avery if he comes back from injury. Rams gave up on Burnett last year for new draftees.
(6) Clayton free agent if they resign him, if comes back from injury.
The Rams front office is going to make some big decisions in offseason & short training camp. All the WR's are going to be learning a new system. Will they be able to play after the injuries they suffered last year.
They're are alot of what ifs for next season.

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
Well I had to pick the new rookies, doubt they would draft someone just to be on the practice squad. Ammendola, DX, and Avery were then selected. Then it came down to free agency, Mark Clayton vs Sidney Rice. Sure I love what Clayton did for us in just four games, but Rice is on anther level. Of course putting Salas over Clayton really irks me

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
1. Clayton- Vet has gotten it done most consistent can do a bit of everything as a receiver if he is healthy
2. DX- Arguably our best deep threat, has the highest cieling, and has the size McDaniels likes. Needs to show that he can be a bigtime player and finish opportunities like the ones he had in Seatle.
3. Pettis- Versatile can play all over good size good hands
4. Salas- Slot guy good hands good toughness ready to play as subpackage receiver right now.
5. Avery- Another downfield speed guy the Rams need. Offers a different element to the offense.
6. Amendola- IMO the looser of the new acquisitions. McDaniels went out and got his own bigger faster slot guy with hands that are just as good. Amendola is a returner so that gives him some value. I remember Eddie Royal really dropped off when McDaniels came in after being really productive in a different system this could happen to amendola
Mardy Gillyard- Practice squad
Robinson- let go
Gibson- Doesn't play special teams could have better versions of him in Salas and Pettis
FA- could happen instead of Clayton, but Rams have to spend money on wholes elsewhere after going hard on receiving targets in the draft

Re: Which WRs will make the 2011 Rams Active Roster?
Looks like I'm in the minority here, but I went with most of the regular cast of characters, Clayton, DA, DX, Amendola, but then I went with Pettis making the roster, and Salas dropping to the practice squad because of a FA pick up.
It was very interesting to see the Rams go receiving rounds 2-4, but for some reason I don't think they're done.
Truth be told, I hope I'm wrong, Salas makes the cut because there's no FA signing because we went after a big time FA OG, OLB or two, FS/SS, and a backup RB. Though unless someone really shines, I think we're going with what we have in the Safety position after drafting a pair.I believe!
