    Your Gameplan for the Hawks....

    Post them here.

What will the Rams need to do, on offense, defense and special teams, to give them the best chance to win?

Hawks fans, feel free to add your keys to victory over the Rams.

Re: Your Gameplan for the Hawks....

I may be somewhat alone here, but...

I think that, while Jackson needs to get his carries, the Rams should come out throwing on first down. I think the O line can handle the Hawks' rush from the front four, and I anticipate that the Hawks will be playing the run early. With Holt and, hopefully, Bruce back, and Hamlin out, the Rams should have plenty of mismatches to exploit.

On defense, the Rams need to shut down Alexander and blitz blitz blitz on passing downs. They'll give up yardage on the quick slants and short patterns, but they need to (1) take the Hawks out of their bread and butter smashmouth gameplan and (2) force Alexander into mistakes.

Why do I need to tell you the gameplan when I already told you how the game will turn out.

And to take it a bit further, try running out of a four wide formation to throw the D off. Spread the D out and keep them guessing.:clanram:

Re: Your Gameplan for the Hawks....

i'd say throw the first 10 plays just to throw the seahwks DC off...i'm sure martz would've loved the idea...

the weather may be a big factor heading into this weekend in seattle. the forecast calls for showers saturday till tuesday...

i can just imagine the ball floppin' and bouncin' all over the place...when the seahwks have it of course...

as for the defense, play 8 in the box and put the onus on the rams secondary to hold down the all-pros jurevicius, hackett and the third guy, whomever he may be...

oh, and hope that the seahwk players approach this game like their fans...

    Settle down T.O. LOL

The keys to this game are playing a great defensive game in all areas. Limiting turnovers and creating some. The offense isn't really a key because it will show up no matter what, but can the D step up that's the key.

Maybe we should use both Jackson AND Barron as RB's this game....

    mistake free, smart, balanced football.

The Seahawks run the smart and balanced part. so mistakes on either side will determine the outcome.

It's hard to figure out the play calling. I think if the Seahawks get Alexander going, which they have against most teams, they will be in the drivers seat.

Rams need to limit Alexander, and put up 27+.

Re: Your Gameplan for the Hawks....

The rams need to disrupt Hasselbeck in the passing game. I would love to see lots of blitzing. Hass might throw a few wild balls that could easily be picked off if he is scrambling. I am looking for a big game from LL.

Offensively, I hope we get to see Bulger back behind the line and I hope they give him a chance to settle in and pass that ball around to everyone. A healthy dose of Steven Jackson will be nice. I'd like the #2 offense to look like a #1 offense.

    Go Rams!!!!!!!!

My game plan consists of this

    -church
    -big Sunday dinner
-watch tons of football from 12 to 3.
-have a couple of bud lights
    -put on my game jersey
    -hang my Rams flag
-and lock the doors and take the phone off the hook for 3 1/2 hours.

    Offense:
Do exactly what teams have been doing to us. Spread the field with Jackson in a lone set back. Make the Hawks commit one way or the other......either load up to stop Jackson with a less than 100% LB and S corp, or slip into a coverage package to stop our receivers. Give Bulger the flexibility to go with whatever the Hawks give him.

    Defense:
Stay in the base package. As scary as it sounds....put the game in the hands of our corners. Let them play man on the outside.....if they get burned, they get burned, but our coverage packages aren't working anyway. Stay in the base and keep Alexander modest. I don't think Engram/Jureviciuos can beat us........Alexander can.

Good call, eight in the box, force husselonhisback to beat us, which he can't. We must focus on the run early, get them out of their game plan. :clanram:
