The only explanation I can accept is that the refs were directed to favor the Patriots.
8 25.00% -
No conspiracy, just a horribly officiated game.
19 59.38% -
Refs always make bad calls in a game - in this one they were just more significant than in most.
2 6.25% -
Whatever the refs did or did not do, it did not influence the outcome.

You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
What do you think about the Rams/Patriots Super Bowl having seen RamTime's evidence?
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
The reason I found my way to this board was because of the post by ?, asking the questions and showing the video clips.
I really was blown away.
The problem to me was, I really don't want to believe that an NFL game could be "fixed", however slightly.
But after seeing those vids, sorry...just WAY too many blatantly bad or non calls, all goiing the Patriots way.

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
I don't know what my vote would be here. It's hard for me to believe there was any "official" conspiracy because those types of things usually involve so many people at different levels, it's difficult to keep a lid on them without someone coming clean. But the horrible way the game was officiated and the overwelming slant in the Patriots favor, makes the possibility hard to ignore. It was either some sort of conspiracy to (at the very least) keep the game close, or the worst officiated game in SPORTS history that just by chance favored one team over another at a time when America needed a "patriotic" shot in the arm.

I think RT should write a book, then Oliver Stone can make a movie out of it.

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
I have been screaming conspiracy against the RAMS since tags couldn't block the move to St. Louis; so it's no doubt how I see it.
I know there isn't good game tape of it, but I saw it live, so I know what happened. Take a look at the game where the RAMS finally got that monkey off their backs. On the first kick return by the RAMS, a whiner player pushes a RAM into the path of the ball when the returner is waving everyone away. It was a BLATANT block in the back. Then the loose ball is rolling across the field, with everyone trying to secure it. There is a HUGE pile-up, and the officials are digging through the pile to see who has it. After a bit, the officials shrug and start to award the ball to the whiners. The only problem was Troy Pelsheck standing there trying to show them he has the ball. Funny how fox managed to get a camera angle that showed the officials starting to point in the whiners favor without including Troy, when he was standing right there. Maas even made some comment about how could it be the RAMS ball when the officials started to point in the whiners direction.

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
One of the most horribly officiated games I've ever seen, but I honestly don't believe it was an organized conspiracy.

If it wasn't a conspiracy, then here we have proof of the largest group of idiots wearing black and white in history....collective IQ would be about 15.3.
As far as am concerned, the parties involved in the conspiracy should be banned from the NFL like Rose was banned from baseball. No Mercy.Super Bowl Champions 2013!

This isn't necessary. :tut

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
I don't think it was a conspiracy.
I do, however, think it was a horribly officiated game. I think the culprit was a trend (which continued at least until 2003) of a "let them play" attitude run wild.

Re: You've seen RamTime's evidence - what's your verdict?
It didn't go both ways because the Rams game is founded on precision, while the Patriots are adept at pushing the rules under the guise of "hard-nosed play."

Very good Avenger. Not one Patriot apologist has been able to come up with something this good. I don't buy it however it's the best argument I have seen. You're a pretty darn good lawyer aren't you Avenger? It didn't go both ways because the Rams game is founded on precision, while the Patriots are adept at pushing the rules under the guise of "hard-nosed play."
