    The Zac Stacy effect

We are all aware of the improvement in the Rams' running game since Zac Stacy was elevated to the starter/feature back role.

I wonder, though, if people are aware of just how HUGE the difference has been, according to the numbers.

In the four games prior to Stacy's promotion, the Rams averaged the following on the ground (per game)

    18 attempts, 47 yards, 2.6 ypc

In the six games Stacy has started, the Rams have averaged the following:

    31 attempts, 134 yards, 4.3 ypc

That is almost unbelievable, particularly when you factor in that teams, in all likelihood, have had far less fear of the pass in the three games (all during Stacy's run) that Sam Bradford has been injured.

Its also noteworthy that Stacy has had a trickle-down effect. During his starts, the Rams have a total of 805 rushing yards. Stacy is only responsible for 537. However, by filling the workhorse roles, the change-of-pace guys (whether it has been Cunningham or Richardson) have been more effective.

You have to give a lot of credit to the Rams' scouts in finding and moving up to draft Stacy. He is the real deal.

I can envision just what he will bring when fully healthy after all these nagging injuries are healed over. Great call by our scouts and GM on drafting ZS, thanks to god we got him great move to trade up for him!
This regime of Mgt. and Coaching staff is something special to be sure, much as I call out the coaches from time to time I do really believe in them. Fish is a monster and Les Snead is proving to be invaluable as his GM running mate, quite the pristine matchup combo... Anyone who does not believe we are headed in the right direction with these guys running the show really should have been around for some of the past regimes. Zac as a rookie is already playing heroic minutes through his injuries etc. very proud he is a Ram!

And he's helped Richardson play well in the role he's best suited for, the #2 back.

Also have to give credit to the O-line, they have been run-blocking very well the last couple of games.

ZMAX really does make a difference (one for rush, one for pass game)! This is just the beginning too.

And as Yodude mentioned, Kudos to the Rams OL work of late. Must continue.

    Re: The Zac Stacy effect

Zac has been just what the doctor ordered. Before the season started how many pundits said the Rams would miss SJ and have no running game. They wanted to see it before they would believe it well they see it now. Zac has a long career in front of him. Zac has been great but a lot of credit has to go to Fisher. He turned on a dime when the spread was not producing. He went to the 12 and we have not looked back. Another move by the FO that does not get ant praise by the fans, it was a tough thing to do but the right move for this franchise.
