Whats really cool is how wide open holt is on the play as well. Warner actually threw to the guy that had two defenders on him. Long live Rev Ike!

Quite possibly the greatest moment in Rams history. How strange is it going to be this year without that guy with the special light around him? I'm with you GC, long live Rev Ike.

Re: Warner To Bruce 1999 Divisional Game vs. Vikings

Not quite the greatest moment in rams history, that has to be either The Tackle of Ike's game winning TD in super bowl 34. The play in the vikings playoff game is not even as significant as the catch by Proehl in the game vs tampa bay.

Oops! You're right GC, I was thinking the SB 34 TD. Nevermind.

Re: Warner To Bruce 1999 Divisional Game vs. Vikings

This might not be the most significant play of that postseason, but it was definitely one of my favorites. For a couple weeks prior, I had to hear the "experts" blab about how the Rams were too inexperienced and wouldn't be able to compete with "real" teams after playing a soft regular season schedule.

The Rams go down 3-0 after the Vikings' opening drive and respond with shock and awe on their very first play with that beautiful touch pass to Bruce for the long TD. It set the tone of the game (49-17 by the late 4th quarter) and let people know the Rams were for real.

When the game ended, someone in the crowd was holding up a sign saying "We STILL haven't played anybody!" Loved it.

Re: Warner To Bruce 1999 Divisional Game vs. Vikings

I agree Jake that the play was a thing of beauty. However, what i remember most about that game is that despite our onslaught out of the gate we were LOSING at half. The critical play in that game wasnt really the ike td, it was the kickoff return by tony horne at the start of the second half. Thats what set the tone for the large margain of victory.

GC,You really know what makes that highlight great is the BOB and WEAVE with Tom Nutten after the touchdown.
