Reebok is out, Nike is in. All the new uniforms have the new Nike look, including the redesigned collar, which I agree, is going to take some getting used too.

I'm irritated no end by the binning of gold pants. White pants just don't look right, they might if the numbers where white with gold trimmed, but a block of white when there is only a smidgeon of white in the jersey and none in the helmet creates a nasty look. White pants bring Linehan's Losers to mind as well.

Spot on. The Rams made the move to white pants when Linehan came in, probably in part as a statement of change towards a new direction. It didn't exactly work out, and the white pants now connotate that disasterous period. Give me the gold every day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

I guess there is a "but wait" to this new uni story... There are some teams that will be coming out with alternate uni's. I cut and pasted this from an article in NFL.com.


"NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told ProFootballTalk.com on Wednesday that there's "no timetable" for when alternate uniforms will be announced, and when and how the announcement is made is up to the individual teams' discretion.
The Pittsburgh Steelers and St. Louis Rams have admitted their alternate uniforms could undergo some changes, according to ProFootballTalk.com, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are rumored to be considering a black jersey."

I hope that the "alternate" uni looks strikingly like the 1999 Superbowl team uni's....

Actually, the more I look at the pants the more I despise them. You are right, there's absolutely no colour continuity in the design at all..

The pants should have been gold/blue trim/white/blue trim/gold . . . (similar to the 99' pants design)

This should have been put to a fan vote, and whilst seeming trivial I do recall picking the Rams back in 83' because of their cool uniform!

I'll still end up buying one of these monstrosities though.....

Completely agree.

The white pants really are shat. An embarrassment almost.

They really do remind me of road games where we get our ass's handed to us on a nice silver platter with a touch of rocket and parsley on the side for good measure.

Besides they show the dirt a lot more, which would be evidence of our inability to get YAC and a proof of sacks.

Hell if Bradford has mud on his pants it's not a good sign.

Dez should start another petition to bring back the gold standard. If the heads of the Rams were able to listen to our red seat situation, then they should to the gold pants as well.
