Re: 2007 FREE AGENTS top 10 at each postion.

Wow imagine Freeney, and Asante Samuel? That'd be REALLY NICE! Starks would be awesome too, he's on the best line there is in football right now, hell this would be amazing!

Michael Turner would be a great backup RB and would fill our KR need.

Dwight Freeny would cost a lot, because we all want Leonard Little back! For DE I would go and try to get Patrick Kerney to replace Tony Hargroves place.

Non-Rams I think we need to at least take a look at, some obviously more realistic than others...

We have significant needs at G, DE, and SLB, and it looks like we could be a spending spree away from addressing all of those needs in free agency. I'd like to see us make a move on Steinbach and maybe one of the outside linebackers, specifically.

Who would you prefer if we could get 3 of those Free-agents, who would be your top players?

It all depends on the cap situation and what they're going to sign for. I'd love to get guys like Steinbach or Clements or Briggs but they're all going to be commanding big money and it would be hard to sign other quality free agents if you inked one of them to a huge deal. Also consider that we want to bring back Little and Curtis.

Ideally, if I had my pick, I'd bring in Steinbach, Justin Smith, and Lance Briggs. But I don't think you can make that happen if you intend to sign both Little and Curtis back. You could possibly downgrade Steinbach to Leonard Davis and downgrade Smith to Charles Grant, but that's just a guess. I'm still not sure that'd be possible from a money standpoint.

You might be better off trying to address two of those positions and then using your first round pick to get the third. For instance, sign Briggs and maybe Grant in the offseason and then draft a Justin Blalock in the first round in April. Or sign Briggs and Davis and spend your first round pick on the best DE on the board.

There are a lot of DEs on that list I'd be interested in. All of the top six there are very good. I like Adalius Thomas, a 270 pounder we could stick at strongside. He's a good enough pass rusher he can and has played at end before, but he's also versatile enough to handle coverage when necessary. But he and Lance Briggs may be out of our price range if we want to resign our own.

After seeing Asante Samuel play last night against the Bears with 3 picks, that makes me want to get Asante Samuel even more! But after that performance, his price range probably went up!

I would sign him with the intention of moving him inside to guard, where I think he's better suited.

I imagine the Rams will be big contenders in both Eric Steinbach and Justin Smith in the offseason. I would be shocked if they did not go after both these guys with the same intention they had with Witherspoon and Glover this past offseason.
