Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
That does not sound like such a great deal for the Hawks. Abraham is a top-noch pass rusher, but is he really such a big upgrade over Fisher or Wistrom that he's worth sending one of them (both of whom are highly compensated) to the bench and giving up the chance to draft at a bigger need position in the first round?

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
No, that's my point... we're not. He's not a big upgrade over either of the Hawks' starting DEs (arguably, they're both better than he is against the run).

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
No but he could pry play outside LB. Dude there team on D was stacked before this. We just upgraded to an average D for now until they prove. THey had a good D and now have a great D if they get him!

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
As a linebacker, he can blitz, but he cant cover pass wise. i agree its not as good for them as it looks, especially when you consider the cap dollars it will eat. Besides, barron and /or pace will kill him.

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
First of all, the Hawks run a 4-3, and I don't see Abraham playing OLB in that system.
Second of all, if their defense was so "stacked" last year, why did they rank 17 out of 32 in yards allowed?
The Hawks had a great offense and an average defense last year.
Abraham would not elevate their defense all that much, in my opinion.
Either way, reports are that he really wants to play for the Falcons, and he can block a trade to Seattle if he wants.

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
Its not bad for us if he goes to the hawks.
first of all he isnt going to get past Pace or Barron
secondly, if he does go to the Hawks then they cant sign Curtis because they wouldnt have the first round compensation

Last time I checked, points go on the scoreboard to win the game, not yards. The Hawks were 7th in Scoring Defense with 16.9/game, and also gave up the 2nd fewest TDs.
In the postseason they gave up only 15/gameLast edited by BBlades89; -03-18-2006 at 01:51 AM.

Re: Abraham heading to the Hawks???
If your defense was SO GREAT, why did you almost lose to THE RAMS?!?! (In the first game). If McDonald doesn't fumble, we have a decent shot at going to OT/winning that one!

Great job beating up on the pathetic Redskins O (could not pass at all) and the slightly more pathetic Panthers O in the postseason (could not run at all... just don't be like the bears and constantly blow your assignments covering Steve Smith) and them getting worked by the Steelers' average O in The Big Show. All of those teams were defense-based so don't try to argue that the postseason proves the greatness of your defense.
Congrats on getting Abraham - we'll see what you guys can do and if you can continue to fit it all under the cap.
I'll be cheering for my boy Walter Jones and maybe Hutch (if he is still there), and of course Grant and Bryce, but I sure do hate Hasselcries and Shaun the jerk.
Oh... and I'm sorry that your Coach happens to be the least likeable person of all time.

So we're done just like that if they get him? One new guy is going to shut our whole offense down? Wow, nothing like giving up before we even play the game.

Yea. Our Oline sucks and he is one heck of a blitzer. We couldn't stop Fisher and Wistrom last year. And now they might add Abraham a great blitzer. I souldn't say were done or our O will be shut down but we will definetly be seeing Gus Frerrote alot.

Last season. We haven't changed anything about it. Timmerman and McCollum are washed up. Pace, Barron and Terrell are our only hope.
