Exclamation "Adelphia is the battle field!"

As the sun rose, a mighty spirit walked upon the plains of Adelphia. His stature was great and his eyes were of the wind, unable to hide the freedom that cried for release within. He was an Eagle! And he brought unto the House of Adelphia, his fellow winged warriors.
Zeus looked down upon his temple, the home of the gods, and spied the trespassers. He cried unto them, "Thou darest to come unto mine temple, armed and battle ready, you sag religious pheasants??!!" McNabb merely laughed and screamed back, "Aye! We have come to battle your TITANS to prove our worth as warriors!!"

Zeus scowled at McNabb's contempt, while hiding his pleasure of witnessing bravery underneath. "Thou art courageous, birdman McNabb; foolhardy as well, but brave. If battle is what you seek...THEN BATTLE IS WHAT YOU GET!!"

McNabb began to pray to his own gods as the heavens parted and the holy blue lights of 65 monolithic titans descended downward like aquarius rain.

"On this day of combat, we look upon ourselves, think of those whom we love...and know that which we fight for. We shall storm the end zones and shake the pillars of heaven!! God, give us strength, GRANT US VICTORY!! For we come to battle...and we fight to win."

The Titans, lead by the heroic McNair and the valorous George stepped forward, raised their weapons, and prepared to test themselves as much as the Eagles. Of weather or not the gods listened to McNabb or they yet guided the Titans...we shall see.

Dude, it's preseason. Very eloquent. You know how I know its preseason? Because posts like this happen during preseason. Wait till week 6, the same poster may do something like this: What the F&*$ was our stinking coach thinking? lol Good stuff tho Atlas.

Though an elegant retort, most likely is warranted, I shall respond in a very concise and stern manner:

And thus the gods had granted their favor unto the mighty Eagles. They had come and gained victory in the house of the Titans. Tis a glorious day of triumph!

But as the eagles turned to trek home, tired and werry, McNabb looked over his shoulder at the Titans as they placed their hands on their hearts to honor the victorious Eagles. But McNabb spied the look in the eyes of the fallen warriors and knew that though the battle was won...the war had just begun.

    A mythology point...

Atlas, I would just like to point out that Zeus was an enemy of the Titans. In fact "Atlas" was the only Titan that was allowed to survive the 10 year battle...forced to carry the world on his shoulder as penance.

Doesn't bode well when you start the season using Zeus as a champion for the very gods that he brought to ruin

I know that....this is a fictious story, not meant to be taken seriously. And there are many verisions of the story. One says that Atlas was not the only one to survive.

Well...in all of the stories Zeus brought ruin to the lowly Titans...much like the Rams will ruin the Titans if we meet them during the post-season

p.s. It was a good story and fun to read...just thought I would give you a hard time about the minor inaccuracies

Atlas,I was just kidding about the "Titans"remark. You're from California and I grew up in Southern Cal and I was reminded of the times when the UCLA fans would give the USC fans crap about being "Trojans".Anyway,I have a question for you.Why did Tennessee decide to change thier name from Oilers to Titans? When the Rams moved to St.Louis I would have been upset if the team had changed names.I am just curious if you were an Oilers fan or did you start following them after they became the Titans?Good luck on the upcoming season!

Never really followed the Oilers. But I hated the name Tennessee Oilers. it was completely wrong for the state of Tennessee. I mean, where's the oil man??!! We're more of a meat and potatoes, dairy state.

Anyway, even though i was born in north Carolina and spent a number of years in Tennessee with my father's family, I have been a Steelers fan just about all my life. My father has always been a big fan, and always will be. He made me watch all the "Bradshaw" highlights as I grew up. Still kind of fond of the Steelers, but then the Oilers went to Tennessee, it was only after they changed the name that I started following them closely.

I have always figured that the Steelers were more of my father's team and I watched because I was his son. The Titans are my team. I started following them long before my dad. I guess the Titans are more of a team to call my own.
