I loved Arch, but in the end he never improved his coverage skills and his play against the run declined.

Another thing to consider:
In one year playing safety, Mike Furrey, a converted wide receiver, had 4 interceptions. In a five year career, Archuleta had 3. Thats not even good enough for a top tier linebacker to be honest.

Wow, you've pretty well summed it up, Rip. They appear to think they're getting the "hard-hitting wildman" (as they put it) of a time long gone.

I don't have the heart to tell them they're getting a shell of a former solid SS.

They think he is the same huge hitter he used to be but with the back problems he does'nt go into tackles at full force anymore and just whiffs on hits and misses alot too

Ive been saying what ive been saying for a long time now, Arch isnt what he used to be. Im not blinded by bias towards Rams players. I hope he does well in Washington, because i really liked Arch, however the Redskins fans are in for a shock if they think they are getting the Arch of three years ago.

Don't know the $ yet, but if my presumption is right and AA got a big contract, I'm glad the Rams didn't get into a bidding war for his services.

That said, I like AA and wish him well in DC.

I forgot to say, but my loyalty is with the Rams first and foremost. There are players that have left that i didnt want to see go, Wistrom, Fletcher, Warner and now Arch. I wish those players well, but when it comes down to it, im a Rams fan through and through.

This is what happens when you get to attached to players in this day and age in the NFL,Players loyalties dont lay with the team they lay with the almighty dollar,with the exception of a Bruce there is not alot of loyalty from players to teams anymore
