AvengerRam's 10 Super Bowl Pre-Game Thoughts
1. I can't believe I'm saying this, but you have to give credit where credit is due. I don't like TO. I don't like his antics or his bravado. I don't think he's funny. But the guy does deserve some praise for working his a$$ off to get to a point where he physically has a chance to play and possibly contribute something. Maybe he's doing it for the glory of TO as much as he is for the glory of the Eagles, but the work ethic is still admirable.
2. I think the Eagles will win. Why? Because they have two things that the Patriots have not faced in their recent playoff runs. (1) A defense that disrupts the opposing offense as well as the Eagles do, and (2) A quarterback who can beat you even if you break his rhythm.
3. Final score: Eagles 26, Patriots 20.
4. MVP: Donovan McNabb (honorable mention to Brian Westbrook).
5. Tom Brady will throw 2 or more interceptions for the first time in a playoff game.
6. While I love the Beatles, and even some of Wings' stuff, I'll be turning to the Simpsons halftime show, rather than watching Paul McCartney belt out "Hey Jude" for the 1,000,000,000th time.
7. Anyone watching the game for the commercials should be slapped.
8. The one guy on the Patriots I'd be afraid of if I were the Eagles: Corey Dillon.
9. If the Patriots are the "team of the decade" and Belichick is "one of the greatest coaches ever" and Tom Brady is "the next Joe Montana" as the pundits would have us believe, then why do people still call the 2001 Super Bowl one of the biggest upsets ever? (I know, this topic has been discussed before here, but it bears repeating)
10. Go Eagles!

Hey Avenger, eventhough I watch the game for the sake of football I still gotta have the commercials. The Bud Bowl is awesome.Someday they'll have the Superbowl in STL. I'd love to see what Anheuser Busch does with that one.

Re: AvengerRam's 10 Super Bowl Pre-Game Thoughts
Yeah since Fox airs the Simpsons as well as the Super Bowl this year they aren't going to air it during their halftime show. I for one watch the game not just for the commercials, although there have been some classic ones for sure. Maybe it is just me, but the commercials the last few years have been very lacking. Maybe I will get a treat this year of some good commercials and the Patriots going down in flames. Hey I can hope...

Re: AvengerRam's 10 Super Bowl Pre-Game Thoughts
Well, there is the Lingere Bowl
Ok, here's my ten thoughts:
1. The Patriots win this thing going away
2. Brady hits Branch and Givens early, the Eagles secondary is suspect
3. The LB's for the Pats contain McNabb, and without a healthy T.O......
4. I'll be watching the Lingere Bowl
5. Jeremiah Trotter hits Brady late once leading with the helmet and will be thrown out.
6. Paul McCartney is up past his bedtime, isn't he the halftime show?
7. Terrell Owens injures the foot so bad he can't come back next year.
8. Dillon goes over 100 yards and you won't even notice it.
9. The locker room celebration in the Pats locker room will be so boring you just might turn it on CSPAN for entertainment purposes.
10. Martha Stewart is the next focus for the Apprentice. While she is on House Arrest, she will be interviewing for her next assistant with Donald Trump's assistance. This has nothing to do with the Super Bowl, I just heard it on the radio today.

Re: AvengerRam's 10 Super Bowl Pre-Game Thoughts
1) The Patriots will win in a close game. Wouldn't be surprised to see Vinatieri kick another game winner, perhaps not at the last second.
2) That said, the Eagles aren't of the same rank of the Pats. The Pats should whip them, but they have a tendency of playing close games with opponents in the playoffs.
3) Donovan McNabb will revert to his old ways and display poor accuracy by throwing multiple balls at his receivers' feet.
4) Since 2000, McNabb has been rushing less and less, both in attempts and in yards. I don't see him gaining more than 20 on the ground against New England.
5) Rodney Harrison will draw at least one personal foul for a hit of some kind.
6) Corey Dillon will have over 75 rushing yards and one touchdown.
7) Terrell Owens may see time on the field, but he will not have a big day against New England. In fact, he may leave the game injured.
8) The Bud Bowl needs to come back.
9) Paul McCartney will have a "wardrobe malfunction."
10) Jeremiah Trotter will be rather silent throughout the game.

Re: AvengerRam's 10 Super Bowl Pre-Game Thoughts
Oh yeah, there is one more game this year.....it has taking me this long to recover, but I may be able to watch it, or maybe I will just watch the commercials. hehe... yeah commercials are good.
TO, will he play? I thought I read his doctor did not approve it. Will he disobey the doctor's orders?
I hope to see a big game from Westbrook and a bad day for Tom Brady.
McNabb better watch out, the pats are good at intercepting the ball.

He may commit a personal foul, but the refs won't make the call. Nick, you forgot "Tag's Golden Rule" --- all hankies stay in pocket when Pats commit penalties.
