Best NFL player ever
I have to say Barry Sanders.
He was amazing, I have a 7 minute video of him just killing Defences.

Re: Best NFL player ever
I actually have never seen Eric Dickerson play, I have seen one bit of footage but it's like 3 seconds of him running straight.

Re: Best NFL player ever
Me niether. I would also have to agree though. Sanders is one of the best. He didn't have a long career because he retired early but in those years that he played he was outstanding!

Re: Best NFL player ever
The only knock I have on Sanders is that he was all or nothing. If you gave him the ball on 3rd and 2, he'd try to break it for a big gain even if it meant losing 5 yards rather than taking the first hole he saw to get the first down. He made the big play often enough you didn't want to criticize him, but he is the all-time NFL leader in lost yardage at 1,114.
I'd have to think about it some more, but off the bat I'd lean towards "Sweetness."

Re: Best NFL player ever
Impossible question. Take your pick - Johnny Unitas, Jim Brown, Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus, Joe Montana and yes, Eric Dickerson (most breathtaking, electric, exciting player ever).

Re: Best NFL player ever
Jim Brown was the most dominant player in the history of the league and butkus was most likely the meanest. Other than that, too tough to compare eras.

He's not even one of the 100 best players of all time.
Dirtiest? Definitely in the top 5.
Best? Not remotely.
