i have never seen Eric Dickerson or Jack Youngblood, but the way you guys talk about them makes me want to see them play.......... I'd say Marshall Faulk is the best player ever

Dick Butkus........there was NOTHING the man couldn't do. He didn't play for money, he played because someone dared to run the ball in his home, ie. between the tackles. He hated the man standing across from him.....doesn't make for a good neighbor, but it sure makes a dominant football player.

Jim Brown hands down, every time he stepped on the field of play YOU HAD TO HAVE HIM ACCOUNTED FOR. And still they couldnt stop the man. Watch his clips they are amazing. And he did this playing in the elements, no turf no indoor stadiums, mud snow rain he excelled in all of it. And A/R, you have Jack Youngblood over Deacon Jones & Merlin Olsen shame on you. I love what Youngblood brought to the game, But i would take the great Deacon over Youngblood anyday.

AR put down his best "team" from the players hes seen in his case the late 70`s as he stated,ive been a rams fan since 83 and a football fan just aslong and would therefore only put players from the time that i started following the game,just like everyone should!

no doubt that from whats been written etc... about deacon "headslap" jones and merlin olsen they are great players of the past but dont see how peeps can rate them if they havent seen them play!

some peeps have said eric dickerson etc...without ever seeing them play!LOL

That's completely true. I chose Dick Butkis because my old soccer coach thought I played like he did if he played soccer and my dad use to tell me stories about him when I was being bad to scare me

Hey GC.I dont think Butkus was the meanest,but runner up to Conrad Dobler.Butkus being the most successful of the 2.Dobler was a good name for that lunatic.
