My greatest SB team is the '99 Rams, of course. ..but THE greatest team?

I didn't see any of the Raider teams on the list. ...Just kidding.

It's got to be the '99 Rams, of course. It was the greatest rags-to-riches story in the NFL. How could I vote otherwise?
    Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Besides, the Super Bowl the Dolphins won in 1972 was not all that exciting as the Ram's tackle at the one to win it, and the emergence of "The greatest show on turf". The Dolphin's offense was boring in comparison.
    ....and YOUR choice is what?
Hey, I don't even like the Dolphins. I'm an NFC guy. However, no team has ever gone 17-0, no team has ever even gone 16-0 in one season. The Rams schedule in '99 was NOT tough. We got to play the sorry NFC West, the then ordinary AFC Central, and a couple of last place NFC teams. We got beat by the Titans and the Lions after a hot start (the end of season Philly game would have been a Ram win if we didn't rest the starters.)

We showed our greatness in the playoffs. That game against the Vikings was amazing. We showed off on O, D AND special teams. I remember the concern that the Rams were scoring so fast that the defense was going to get tired just over the Vikings 3 and outs.

But to me, the best team is the one that never gets beat at all. That's the '72 Dolphins. Of course the stars aligned for them, The stars HAVE To align for an undefeated team, and usually for the Super Bowl Champs as well.

If we go outside the Super Bowl era, I would allow the consideration of the 1940 Bears because they beat the second best team (the Redskins) 73-0 in the Championship game! However that win is tainted by rumors of a 'skins player letdown to punish a mouthy owner.

I had no idea Daniel Snyder owned the Redskins as far back as 1940.

u know i gotta go with the 89 9ers...that team was loaded on both sides of the ball...they killed their opponents in the playoffs...but i gotta show love to the 99 rams cuz they were fun to watch...it was like the tecmo football video games for nintendo cuz their offense was a juggernaut. i would say the 94 9ers were pretty similar to the 99 rams cuz of the offensive power they showed.
