Thread: Best Teams in the NFC

Best Teams in the NFC
Its pretty much unanimously accepted that the AFC is the more dominant of the conferences. The top 4 or 5 preseason SB favorites come from the AFC. Baltimore, New England, San Diego , and Indy are all in a position to win it all. But it is a completely different story in the NFC. Essentially, due to the lack of a dominant force in the NFC, the conferance is wide open. Who do you guys think are the top 5 favorites in the NFC?

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
I'd say that the perception is that the top 5 teams are (not necessarily in order): Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia, New Orleans and Dallas.
Truth be told, though, I'd stack the Rams up against any of them.
Welcome to the St. Louis Rams!

Not in any particular position rams, Seachickend, bears, saints, cowboys. The eagles don't make the top 5 putting the rams in because of Mcnab's questionable knee

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
1. Cowboys
2. Eagles (with McNabb)
3. Rams
4. Saints
5. Bears
6. Seahawks
7. Whiners
8. Cardinals
9. Panthers
10. Lions
Eagles without McNabb drop out of the top 10.

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
As hard as it was for me to do I had to be honest with myself and not include the Rams in the top 5....yet. We have too much to prove.
1) Bears - Still a top 3 D in the NFL & an offense just good enough to squeak out wins.
2) Cowboys - Pretty talented on both sides of the ball.
3) Saints - Great offense and good enough D.
4) Eagles - Pretty talented on both sides of the ball.
5) Seahawks - Still have the Rams number and until we beat them or win our division they have to be ranked ahead of us.
6) Rams - Arguably the top offense in the NFL, and as promising as the defense looks, nothing is proven.

1. Philadelphia (provided McNabb doesn't spend significant time in the trainers room)
2. Bears (That defense looked human at the end of last season, but they're healthy again)
3. Seahawks (This is the most talented defense the Hawks have had in 32 years)
4. Saints (Extremely talented on offense, Jason David won't solve problems on defense)
5. Cowboys (Absolutely rides on the right arm of Tony Romo)
6. Rams (I have complete faith in the offense, not enough in the defense - however, the Saints won last season with a similar makeup as this team.)

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
why is everyone picking the Eagles, even with a recovering McNabb this team has a tough division to play in and I just don't see them as a top 5 team, maybe top 10.

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
Wow, a bunch of homers here in this forum. Get real now... To place the Rams in the top 5 right now is seriously dreaming.
I think the Rams, Seahawks and Niners will battle it out for the west and the Niners will probably win the west.
Chicago
dallas - I hate this team though
New Orleans
Eagles
Niners
in lower spots but not far behind.
Seahawks - getting old and lost twice to Niners last year. Niners are a better team now and on the rise. Good coaching and a highly talented youth movement make the Niners team to beat.
Rams - Split season with Niners in a come from behind win against the poorest pass protection I've seen in a game. Niners secondary is much stronger now and Nolan won't kick a field goal with 1 inch to go inside the ten...Rams look ok but haven't improved talent pool like Niners have. Teams will be competitive but edge to Niners
Cardinals- They could be, should be dangerous but every year they are supposed to be the team that could come out and kick butt. They have like 1 playoff win in their entire existance. This team needs new ownership. The Bidwells have no clue when it comes to football.

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
Wow. Cause they lost twice to the niners last year, they are bad. Consider their injury situation last year. They were without Hass and Shaun, and they had a really banged up Walter Jones. And most of their defense was injured. Seriously. I am not using the excuse as justification for last year. Just to point out your flawed logic. All of the stars are healthy now, the defense is healthy now. And they are very evenly matched with the niners. The niners are not a better team. They are a younger team with more upside. However, that upside has not been reached yet. Whereas the Seahawks are a wily veteran team that know how to win and have realized their potential. Matched up today....I would take the Hawks. Same teams two years from now...the niners.

To be fair, not all evil robots are killers.

Re: Best Teams in the NFC
The seahawks did have a lot of injuries last year. They could be a lot better this year if their key players manage to stay healthy.
