Brett Favre to retire

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Favre has decided to call it a career

Interesting. Leaves the Pack with Aaron Rodgers at QB, although he is a former first round pick and showed something when Favre went down in the game against Dallas last season.

Like the article says this hasn't been confirmed yet. Brett could change his mind, although unlikely. Brett was/is one of my all-time non RAM favorites I hope he keeps playing.

I'm glad, he is going out on a high note. Now GB will be back in the pack for the next 10 years.

Re: Brett Favre to retire

Interesting that this came right after Moss signed back up with the Cheatriots. Favre wanted Moss to land in Green Bay.

Re: Brett Favre to retire

I'm surprised he didn't come back but as Rambos said better to go out still playing well rather than coming back and being past it..

from what ive heard, Favre was always going to retire and the only thing to keep him playing would be if Moss joined GB. So when it didnt happen, he hung it up

although by doing it so soon after Moss signed made it fairly obvious

I've heard that idea from other sources too, but why would Moss come to Green Bay? He would want a multi-year deal in GB and Favre was always a year to year retirement decision. If you were Moss would you sign a multi year deal to play with Favre for one year or stay in NE and play with Brady for the rest of your career? I'd opt for the latter.

Re: Brett Favre to retire

Too bad, I was hoping he'd keep going. Favre looks like he could keep playing forever - he was as sharp as ever in '07. Definitely also one of my all-time favorite non-Ram players, a great player and a great person.

The best QB ever. What more can you say.

I'm happy I got to see him play in the same way I was happy that I got to see Marshall Faulk play - special players like that don't come along that often.

Re: Brett Favre to retire

Well he's been a great part of the packers and the NFL. It'll be weird watching Green Bay without 4 throwing the ball.
