Bruce the go-ahead to wear No. 80

Seeming how they beat us last year...I'm worried.

Did their wr's beat us or was it Gore? Or was it Dante Hall giveing them a gift in fg range. It sure wasnt Darrell Jackson. Plus we had zero pass rush last year something we will fix with either Long or Gholston.

The ***** have decided against issuing Isaac Bruce the No. 80.
Bruce never asked for Jerry Rice's old number, but the ***** decided it wasn't a good idea to even offer it. They'll probably retire the number after Rice is inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He'll be eligible in 2010.

Jerry Rice put himself in this position when he asked Largent to if he could wear the 80 in Seattle. If he didnt let Bruce wear it there would have been uproar, so its not as much of a classy gesture as it is saving face on the part of Rice.

Jerry Rice has a reputation of being a stand up guy. Hes not saving face, hes being himself.
