Buccaneers.com reports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed free-agent LB Cato June (Colts). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

All indications are that he'll be competing with Ryan Nece for the starting SLB spot in their scheme. He's probably a better fit as a Cover 2 WILL but there's no way he's supplanting Derrick Brooks in that spot.

John Murphy, of Yahoo! Sports, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LB Cato June signed a three-year contract worth more than $12 million, according to a league source. "June loved his meeting with defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and was sold on their chances of being a playoff contender this season," the source said.

If the Rams are still interested in Chris Draft, this could be good news, as the Bucs were one of the teams competing for his services.
