Cameron fired...

Didn't take long for Parcells and his new GM Jeff Ireland to decide that Cam Cameron wasn't the right HC to lead the Dolphins. Is it time for Marty ball in Miami?..

Re: Cameron fired...

He was the OC for a San Diego offense that was very effective.

Absolutely. Provided he and Linehan could work things out between their two distinct offenses, the addition of Cameron would be a huge coup and big step toward improvement.

Well then just what are the major distinctions between Linehan's and Cameron's offenses? Seems to me they've got a lot in common: neither can move the ball or score!!

WHAT SAY YE?

Both offenses have been very effective moving the ball and scoring when given a legitimate chance. Linehan had very high powered offenses in Minnesota and had the Rams ranked 6th in total offense in 2006. Cameron's offense when he was the OC in San Diego speaks for itself.

Thanx for the info. But my question is, has Cameron been able to build a successful NFL-quality offense without a guy named Tomlinson? My point is that it's pretty easy to look successful when you have a future Hall of Famer in your backfield. Has he ever had success anywhere else?

Cameron's only other NFL experience was as the Redskins QB coach from 85-93. Not sure how much he contributed, but they had a lot of offensive success and a couple of SB wins.

Judging on what he did with Brees, Rivers, LT and Gates, IMO he would do just fine with Bulger, Jackson, Holt, Bruce and McMichael.

Re: Cameron fired...

I would be all for it. I am bothered, however, by the fact that Greg Olsen has not been fired yet (to my knowledge).

Re: Cameron fired...

Cameron's offense with Ronnie Brown looked decent at the beginning of the year. Miami's offense had a strong O-Line, and their run game looked good at times, even when backups like Jesse Chatman had to step in when Brown went down. Cameron didn't have a starting calibur QB and no real weapons on the offensive side of the ball. (especially when they shipped Chambers.)
I think Cameron just needs a back he can utilize much like Tomlinson was used when he was the OC in San Diego.

Re: Cameron fired...

Cameron comes with Marty that means we would have to fire Linny because Cam is now on Marty's staff and they are out looking for a job

Re: Cameron fired...

I don't see how he can be on his staff if they don't even have a team right now.

In an ideal world, we would fire Linny and take them both. If this FO wants results and fan support to return, they need to make flashly moves like this.
