Filed to ESPN: Arizona will sign WR Larry Fitzgerald to a record 8-year, $120 million deal that includes close to $50 million guaranteed.

That's a helluva lot of dough he's making right there, I was interested in grabbing him if he were to hit FA but looks like he's going to be Steven Jackson's version of the Cards. Still, it's going to cause problems for veterans who are holding out and now can potentially cause demand raises

Thats alot of Money of a WR. Being an armchair and Madden guru *cough cough* i didnt think that WR contracts would get that high (even though i think the rookie wage scale has helped a little in getting more money to proven Vets.)

You have 1 starting Quarterback, that get paid well, but you need 2-4 Wide receivers on the field at any one-time, and i don't think The Cards should have paid that much, dont get me wrong, Larry Fitzgerald is in the top 3 Wide Receivers of the NFL (Behind Andre Johnson & Megatron IMO) and is a game changer in his own right. realistically you can only get 1-2 players per team on these contracts?? (correct if im wrong here) and i'd rather pay a DE, QB or OT that sort of money.

Andre Johnson signed a seven-year, $62.7 million contract last year in Houston. This thing dwarfs that.
