What happened to him last year?

I know he got hurt but i know he recovored too.

He got hurt and he was backup to Thomas Jones who had a career year

his holdout for a big contract plus thomas jones producing plus adrian peterson coming in and running for the bears hurt benson's rookie season... he really hurt his knee pretty bad but should play more into the bears' offense more this year

Benson is going to be a stud. He got a bad rap in the public eye last year. The Bears were seriously low balling him at the bargaining table. Initially, his contract that was offered by the Bears was incentive laden but not in accordance with draft picks around his selection.

He was a workhouse at Texas and loves to carry the ball. Thomas Jones was good last year but Benson is bigger and stronger. We'll see.

Thanx for the info, tx. I, for one, had been lead to believe from media reports that Benson's holdout was just another rookie acting greedy and all. I hadn't heard that the Bears were jerking with him like that. On second thought, however, it doesn't surprise me much. It wouldn't be the first time the Bears got cheap with a draft pick.
