Chris Johnson is going to break MFaulks total yardage record.
It appears as if Faulk's record is in serious trouble. I think TN is going to feature Johnson Sunday. Looks like it could a long day for the Rams run D.

Isnt always a long day for the rams run d?
But really, we held the consensus best rusher in the nfl to 63 yards, so its not impossible to hold CJ to under 100. The record stays with the rams.

Let Vince Young throw for 300 yards. I really don't care that much if the Rams win or lose anymore this season. It might even be better to lose but at least make sure that Rams RB's still hold the single season rushing and yards from scrimmage records at the end of the season.

AZ held AP to 19 yds and the week before CJ got 150 on the same amount of carries. I dont think the best back in the league is AP any longer by most accounts. I think STL sees him live Sunday at 3:15. SJax is a good one too considering his numbers on a team that challenged offensively.

Make no mistake, sjax is the best back in the league. There is no longer any doubt after this year.
Toughness: Have you ever had back spasm? Trying running into LB's with backspasms.
Production: Second leading rusher in the nfl, on a team on which he is the only impact player.
Leadership: Consensus leader in the locker room, Acts beyond his age and shows an aura of command on the field.
Sjax is the best RB in the NFL.

Re: Chris Johnson is going to break MFaulks total yardage record.
he is good but TN won games because OF CJ. SJax was done very little in that regard. But he is a talent for sure. I just dont see him in CJ league now. Infact CJ has broken some pretty impressive records already and is in the Jim Brown conversation now with his total yds thru 26 games and total rush yds in the first two seasons. Jim Brown is the only other back to crack 1500 yds in 12 games with a 6.0 yds per carry. CJ also has more TD over 85 yds than any back in history and is getting ready with one more run over 40 to have the complete record to himself.
He is fun to watch.

Re: Chris Johnson is going to break MFaulks total yardage record.
Sure he is fun to watch but he is also not a leader and has been proven to be detrimental to the team at times. Example is when he complained about splitting the time with lendale white, saying he wanted all of the carries. Also a big part of his yards comes from vince youngs double threat of passing and running. Also chris johnson has a solid o-line who has only 1 game were they were not all starting.
Steven jackson causes no problems within the locker room, and has none of the talent around him like CJ does.
Dont get me wrong the man is a hell of a good RB and will have a Great career but as of the season he is not ahead of SJAX.

Maybe Johnson could just...not make it through the game?

well perhaps the title should be changed to...Chris Johnson had a whiff of the sweet smell of the record..but reality has kicked it out of his hands now.

Re: Chris Johnson is going to break MFaulks total yardage record.
Chris Johnson now has 2,176 Y.F.S
Marshall Faulk`s record is 2,486
so Johnson would need 311 Y.F.S to beat it in the last 2 games
with the rushing record..
Johnson has 1,730 yards
and of course the record ED holds is 2,105
so Johnson would need 376 yards again from the last 2 games.
the last 2 games being the Chargers at home on Christmas day and the Seahawks at Qwest field....Seahawks have been bad this year obviously but their Run D is ranked 12th in the NFL and well the Chargers are playing at home and just a good team who will know that to win all they really need to do is contain Johnson.
it`s still possible..but i personally dont think so..and the title of the thread certainly looks premature at this point.

Re: Chris Johnson is going to break MFaulks total yardage record.
Double check your math, you're off by 100. Johnson needs 376 yards to break Erick Dickerson's record. He'd need to average 188 yards over the next two games to do that. It's within the realm of possibility, but just barely. I'd place his chances under "Not bloody likely." I think you guys can rest easy about Dickerson's record lasting another year.

I didn't buy him as a quarterback. He's just so stiff, especially when he drops back to pass. Really stiff. He reminds me of Kurt Warner.
