Re: Chris Johnson Signs With Chiefs

I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

To me, Thomas was a bust that I was glad we didn't spend anymore time with. To me. My opinion.

...okay? I don't know what the extra emphasis on this being your opinion is supposed to mean or be directed towards. We're all just sharing our own opinions here, aren't we? And you're the one who was asking the questions about the other side's stance, right?

I'm just not sure I can agree with him being a complete bust when, in 2003, he put up very similar numbers to what Pisa Tinoisamoa put up in 2004, and Pisa is widely considered one of our better defenders. Not saying that Thomas was on the same level as Pisa, but we all acknowledge the potential of him being good is/was there given what he did prior to being drafted.

Like Lewis, Pickett, and even Arch, Thomas hasn't lived up to his first round billing at all, but I think he's been at least servicable, and I don't think 30 starts where he was shifted around to multiple LB'ing positions was enough to completely determine Thomas wouldn't work out.

But that's just my $0.02. All I know is that going into 2006, it would have been nice to see what Haslett could have gotten out of him, since at worst he'd be competing for the open SAM linebacker spot, IMO.

That would be like spending money on an anchor when the river has dried up.

If the talent isn't there, and you know it, why keep it around?

Because obviously we disagree about whether or not the talent is there. I'm not entirely convinced that Thomas is a bust yet, especially considering the comparible numbers to Pisa. I would have liked to see if Haslett could have gotten something out of him.

Wasnt the 2004 season the one where Pisa dislocated his shoulder like eight times?
